Lipstick Declutter Update #7

Image
Oh, what fun I've been having trying different lipsticks whenever I wear makeup. I hope the novelty lasts, because every time I look into my bag of lip products still to apply, well, let's just say I'm wondering if it's the never ending bag of lipstick! Here's the lipsticks I have worn recently. Lime Crime Diamond Crushers in Cleopatra Although I don't wear glitter lip products often (ok, it's a rarity) I really like the formula of the Lime Crime Diamond Crushes and I'm not ready to let go of any of them just yet. ColourPop Ulta Matte Lip in 1st Base The Ultra Mattes are not my favourite formula on offer from ColourPop. I can forgive that if I really like a shade, but this one gets a no from me, it's just not a pink I would wear. ColourPop Ultra Metallic in 3-Way I bought a few of the Ultra Metallics when they were released out of curiosity. They can be somewhat unflattering on my dry lips by the end of the day. But just

Wish List 2018 #2

Image
Goodness knows I don't need any makeup at the moment and my skincare stash is currently pretty full, too. Of course there are things that I would love to buy. There will always be things that I want to buy! I don't seem to create a wishlist without products from Revolution Makeup, so I will start there first. Tammi Tropical Paradise Palette - I like the shades in this palette, but I also want to support the Youtuber Tammi. It helps that the palette is only $19! Carmi Kiss of Fire Palette - I just love the shades in this palette. It's not unique to my collection, but with the amount of eye shadows I have, there's not many eye shadow shades that I don't own, lol. The swatches are what really won me over. I Heart Revolution Violet Chocolate Palette - Just when I had decided to stop buying the Chocolate palettes just to add to my collection, they release this one, which I love the look of! Vanilla Bean and Coconut Fixing Spray - And surprisingl

Shop My Stash Palette Edition- The Balm Nude 'Tude

Image
Another palette finally getting some love for the Shop My Stash series is from The Balm, a brand I have never used before, not sure why it took me so long to dip into the eye shadows. Better late than never, right? I'm sure you've all seen the Nude 'Tude eye shadow palette, but I'll post some pics anyway.. I like that the cardboard packaging has a magnetic closure. The graphics are pretty cute, too. Inside the palette is a decent sized mirror and the shades are all labelled. Ok, onto the swatches. I must say that swatching the shades was uninspiring. A few of the shades, I had to go over 2 or 3 times to get a pigmented swatch. The mattes also were patchy. I was not looking forward to actually applying the shadows. Well, wasn't I surprised when the shadows applied beautifully. The shimmers weren't amazingly pigmented, but they made for nice everyday shades and easy to apply. The mattes blended so well, not patchy at all. I am so glad t

Nail Polish Declutter Update #8

Image
A couple of years ago I went through a glitter polish frenzy. I wanted all the glitters! I was willing to put up with the pain of removal to have sparkling nails. Of course, my obsession faded over time and now I am in a better frame of mind to just keep what I love and not be distracted by anything sparkly. Jewel Tone The blue and purple glitters are pretty, but the polish is patchy to apply, so I am going to declutter it. Boogie Nights This blue flakie polish is stunning, I applied it over a white polish, but no base is necessary for this nail polish. Keeping for sure. Glitter Strikes Back I'm decluttering this nail polish because the glitters are just too chunky. It's a shame because those purple and gold glitters are just stunning in the bottle. Flying South This is a feather type glitter, lots of little strands of white and orange. I don't really like the look of it on, plus some of the strands stick up. I'm saying good bye to

Eye Look Featuring JD Glow Cosmetics Eye Shadows Malibu and Opal

Image
I've been so caught up using eye shadow palettes that I've neglected my single shadows, even ones that I had not even tried yet. I wanted to remedy that and create an eye look using the shades Malibu and Opal from JD Glow Cosmetics . I wish my camera could pick up how nice these shadows look. Oh, and I probably should have photographed them before I actually used them! Oops! On to the swatches. These swatches have been done with my finger on bare skin. Malibu is a tan with a blue shift, Opal is a pale pink also with a blue shift. Both shimmer shadows are creamy and beautifully pigmented. I really like how my lids looked. Malibu is not as opaque a colour as what I'm used to applying, but I actually love the sheerness of this shade. It gave my lids an almost wet metallic look. I must say, it was enjoyable using some singles and JD Glow Cosmetics eye shadows don't disappoint. What are you most likely to reach for, single eye shadows or pa

May Empties

Image
I don't mean to state the obvious here, but we're half-way through the year! Where has the other half gone??? The worst part of it, is that it is now Winter, ugh! Anyway, you came for the empties, so here's what I finished in May. As usual, most the products I finished are skincare, but I also finished some makeup items. Both of my decluttering series means I also am getting rid of lipsticks and nail polishes. Nivea Micellar Water- I used this product on a cotton pad in the morning instead of cleanser. I had no problem, but have since read that micellar water should be rinsed from the skin, so I will be going back to my regular Simple Toner in my morning skincare routine. Repurchase? This is not a product that I need, so most likely not. Beauty By Nicholas Plump It Up - This is a very light weight cream that I used before a moisturiser like a serum. As the name suggests, it has been formulated to plump the skin, reducing the look of fine lines. Repur
