AM Skincare Routine

I have been meaning to blog an updated skincare routine for quite some time now. But it seems that every time I go to take photos, I realise that I am about to replace an almost finished product with something new. I often try new skincare, so it was now or never, no matter how much product I had remaining. Here's my morning routine

Moreish Cream Cleanser- I adore this cleanser, it is one product that I have repurchased and have backups of.

Simple Toner- As the name suggests, this is a no frills product that just tones my skin. That's all I'm asking of this product and that's why it is yet another regular addition to my skincare routine.

CosRX Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence- This essence is new to me. I haven't been using it long enough to have yet formed an opinion, but I am enjoying it so far.

Now Dark Spot Serum- I like to include a serum in my routine, and this one is also a fairly new addition. I have noticed a brighter complexion. I will be sure to review this serum in the near future.

The Jojoba Company Cucumber and Guava Firming Eye Balm- I am using this eye cream everyday in an attempt to finish it. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad product, but it hasn't done anything other than offer some hydration to my under eye area. I'm looking forward to trying something new.

Nivea Hyaluron Cellular Filler- I am currently trialing this day cream. It is so rich and hydrating, my skin is loving it! I didn't realise my skin had become so dehydrated. I will update my thoughts in a review after I've spent more time using.

Skin 79 Non-Chemical Sun Block- And I top off my morning skincare routine with my favourite sunscreen...ever!

Shop My Stash Palette Edition- Revolution I Heart Violet Chocolate Palette

If you've read my blog, I'm sure you're not surprised that I have added another Revolution Chocolate palette to my collection. I have many of these palettes, but I do believe that the releases are getting out of hand. Don't get me wrong, I get excited about new releases, but Revolution is churning out products so quickly, I find it hard to keep up. I now haven't been buying every single chocolate palette and have given up on the notion of needing each one in my collection. But, I am human, I can still be tempted, lol. Hence, the purchase of the Violet Chocolate palette.

Such cute packaging!

As the name suggests, the palette features purples, there's also neutral tones and pinks. I'll show you some swatches.

The mattes on the top row didn't swatch the best, but they do make good transition shades. I found that the next 2 rows are quite pigmented. I like that I can easily create a complete eye look with this palette, anywhere from a bold colourful look to a more subtle one.

Here's the eye looks I created.

Did I need this palette? Absolutely not, but it's a fun edition to my collection and I do adore that purple and chocolate packaging!

Doll Hospytal Cosmetics

For a moment let's forget that one of my blog series is a lipstick declutter. Before you judge me for adding 3 lipsticks to my collection, I did it for a good reason. You see, Doll Hospytal Cosmetics is an indie brand. The owner, Christina, is on a mission to destigmatize mental health. She herself suffers from depression and anxiety. A portion of each lipstick is donated to National Alliance on Mental Illness. As someone that knows what it's like to live with a mental illness, I was more than happy to add some lipsticks to a stash that I am trying to reduce.

I like that each lipstick bullet is in the shape of a capsule. The lipsticks come in 4 finishes, Matte, Vivid Velvet, Creme Lipstick and Luxe Cream Lipstick. I only bought Matte lipsticks. They are very creamy and comfortable to wear and also long wearing. For a bullet lipstick, at least in the case of the Matte finish, all boxes are ticked for me!

I'll show you some swatches and photos of me wearing the lipsticks.

Beauty By Nicholas Omega Hydroxy

The Beauty by Nicholas Omega Hydroxy serum is a product I won in a prize pack. I received it months ago, but because I like to use products up first before opening new ones, this one had to wait. I was so happy when I finally had the opportunity to apply the serum to my face.

Taken from Priceline- "Reveal your inner glow with Omega Hydroxy. Forget the pain, costs and downtime of laser and chemical peels, this deeply exfoliating, resurfacing treatment helps brighten and revitalise your skin, leaving it feeling seriously clean, refined and renewed."

The serum is packaged in a chrome bottle with red label. There is 50 ml of product in the bottle and it has a pump-top to dispense product. I love that it has airless packaging, I just find it inconvenient not being able to see how much product I have left.

The serum has a very lightweight creamy consistency and has an almost floral with a hint of chemical, lol. Sounds bad, but it's not, the fragrance isn't strong.

I've only been applying this product to my face, so one pump is enough. The serum absorbs so quickly, making my face feel soft and smooth. I haven't had any adverse reaction, not even a slight tingle since using.

After a few weeks of use, I am impressed with the results. The texture of my skin is so smooth. My skin is clearer and I have less congestion around my nose.  I am happy with the improvements so far and am hoping my skin will continue to look nicer.

The Beauty By Nicholas Omega Hydroxy serum is a definite win for me.

Nail Polish Declutter Update #10

Some more glittery polishes in this declutter update.

Comet Storm

Sadly I will be getting rid of this nail polish. I was so excited when I ordered it, but the gorgeous purple glitters just don't translate on the nails. It's a shame because it looks so beautiful in the bottle.

Maybelline Color Show in Rosy Rosettes

This glitter polish is stunning with it's glittery pink and gold finish. This one's not going anywhere!

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nail Polish in Let's Dance

I will be decluttering this polish because is too chunky and I just don't like it.

LA Colors Polish in Glitter Bomb

I ummed and ahhed over this nail polish. Usually this would tell me that I don't need it. Then I saw it in the sunlight and the small silver glitter pieces twinkled and I couldn't part with it!

Fresh Mint

I can live without this glitter so I am decluttering it.

Calendular For Joy

This peachy glitter polish doesn't look amazing in this photo, but irl, it's very pretty so it will be staying in my stash.

I can't find a label on the Satin nail polish, but the silvery glitter is not unique in my collection so I've decided that I don't need it.

Back Alley Treats

I love this colour so much, but unfortunately this textured nail polish is just too chunky, so I am saying goodbye to this one.

I would call this polish declutter update a success because I am only keeping 3

My nail polish collection is now at 48

July Empties

It seems that the middle of Winter didn't just effect my motivation, but also the amount of products that I finished in July, or lack of.

As you can see from this pic, this post will be short and sweet.

Proactiv Blackhead Dissolving Gel- I never thought I would try a Proactiv product, let alone finish one. Granted, this was a trial size that I received, but there was enough for many uses. I get congestion on and around my nose area and this gel did a great job of deep cleansing this area.
Repurchase? This was a good product, but I don't feel that I need it in my skincare routine.

NMF Mediheal Aquaring Ampoule Mask- This sheet mask fits well and does a lovely job of hydrating my skin.
Repurchase? Although it hydrates nicely, I can't apply anything on top like a night moisturiser or facial oil to finish my routine. I will use the remaining masks from the pack, but I won't be repurchasing.

Hand Chemistry Retin-Oil- I originally bought this oil to use on my face. My skin soon got used to the low retinoid percentage, so I then used it as it is marketed for, a body oil.
Repurchase? I really enjoyed this for my body and would consider buying it again.

Skinn Lip 6 X Lip Serum- An everyday treatment for the lips. It is one of my faves for treating my dry lips.
Repurchase? This formula I would in a heartbeat, but it has been changed and I don't find it quite as hydrating, it just doesn't last long enough on my lips as it is more of a cream.

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer- This is one of my favourite concealers for my under eye area. I enjoy trying others, but seem to come back to this one.
Repurchase? For sure, actually I have no back-ups, so must get some more!

More lipsticks and nail polishes are leaving my collection.

And, that's it! Thanks for reading xx
