Simply Nails 2017 #6

Image
On my favourite online forum, you've probably guessed it's Beauty Heaven, a thread was started for nail art challenges for anyone interested in being involved. Essentially, a couple of colours are chosen to use in a nail look. I thought I would also share with you my effort of this week's "Green and Blue" challenge. You know the rule "Blue and green should never be seen..." well, I'm one that doesn't follow colour rules. Whether it be certain colours for the season to what colours should not be paired. I like to play with any combo, so I was excited to do a green and blue nail. I chose Ulta3 Mojito, Boe Beauty Blue Illusion and a Kleancolor shimmer topper. I painted the green first, then sponged on the blue just to the 2nd half of my nail to create an ombre. For a sparkly final touch I painted 2 coats of the green tinted base with a golden holographic shimmer. Thanks for reading xx

Boe Professional BB Cream and Concealer

Image
Boe Professional is a makeup brand available at Big W. It is a very affordable range. I have tried a couple of lipsticks in the past and really liked them so I decided to take a chance on the BB Cream. Taken from Big W - "Conquer the art of mutli-tasking with the Boe Professional BB cream and concealer. The BB cream with a built-in concealer in the cap even has a small mirror to ensure precise application. The BB cream contains among others aloe vera, vitamin E, shea butter and helps hydrate and condition the skin. It gives the skin a medium coverage, while still leaving the skin with a nice natural finish and a lovely glow." The BB Cream is packaged in a 35 ml white tube with simple label, I quite like it. Under the black flip top lid, there is a small tub of concealer. To access the BB cream, the lid needs to be removed to reveal a small nozzle for dispensing product. Here I have the concealer blended out on top, with some of the BB cream unde...

Nail Art Wednesday

With this beautiful weather I've been experiencing in my neck-of-the-woods, I was inspired to create a mani to represent that warmth. Boe "Blue Illusion", Sally Hansen Xtreme Nails "White On, Ulta3 "Honolulu"  and Models Inc. "Cookie". I began with a blue base. Once the polish was dry, I sponged on dabs of white to mimic clouds. On 2 of my nails, I used a brush to paint on "petals" of a sunflower. To finish the flower off, I used some dark brown polish on a dotting tool to place dots in the center. I really loved how this mani turned out, especially the clouds. I hope you are having a wonderful week! :)

Lipstick Love- Boe Professional Lipstick in "Primped"

Image
Boe is a brand that is exclusive to Big W. Initially, the products didn't really appeal to me. However, once the Professional range was released, my interest was piqued. but not to the point of buying anything. Well, the joys of winning a prize! Thank you Christina , I am now an owner of a Boe Professional lipstick!  Typical bullet style lipstick. This swatch of "Primped" shows you just how moisturising this lipstick is. I was so impressed with "Primped". Easy to apply and felt nice on my lips. This particular shade wasn't completely opaque, but I don't mind a sheerer dark colour, as it can be built up and I am less likely to go overboard. I'm sure I will be spending more time at the Boe display next time I'm at Big W. Have tried any Boe products?

Frozen Nails

Image
What began as a "tribute" to Winter. I hate this weather, but I was feeling like ice and wanted to represent how I felt on my nails. Once I had the finished result, Frozen immediately sprang to mind, not the song, thankfully..well, until now. Do you now hear it too? "Let it go, let it goooooo.." Sorry... Back to my nails. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "White On", Boe Beauty "Blue Illusion" and a sparkly topper from the brand Satin. The obvious choice for my nail look was blue and white. I began with a white base, then sponged "Blue Illusion" onto my nails, so that some of the white was still visible . To add a little pizzazz to this look, I applied the very pretty, sparkly top coat. Looking forward to when I can say goodbye to Winter for another year. I'm a Spring kind of girl, what's your favourite season?
