Along with the Peanut Butter Cup palette, I also received the Red Velvet eye shadow palette in the Revolution I Heart Chocolate Christmas pack. I love the white over red melting chocolate palette. The palette has a selection of reds, pinks and neutrals. I'll show you some swatches. Typical of the Revolution formula, the mattes are a little powdery, but blend well. The shimmers are pigmented and work best over an eye shadow base. I did like the shades, but I wasn't as inspired as I expected when I started creating eye looks. This is not a reflection on the palette at all, I think I overdid it with warm shades when they became a huge trend.  Here's the 3 looks that I created. I could certainly live without this eye shadow palette, but am happy to have it in my collection.

Thankfully I've been able to start playing with makeup again. It's Summer here in Australia and the weather has been very hot this year and applying makeup was just not a priority, besides, it would have just melted off my face. First on my new-palettes-to-try list was the Peanut Butter Cup palette from the Revolution I Heart Makeup line. The cute packaging gets me every time! As you can see, it's a very yellow/orange toned palette. Swatching the shades didn't excite me. I mean, they weren't bad, but I wasn't wowed by them, in fact the colours weren't really speaking to me.  Well, my attitude changed when I began applying these shadows. The mattes were easy to use and most of the shimmers needed help with a sticky base, but I use one on my lids anyway, so that isn't an issue for me. If you've read my blog, I'm sure you're not surprised that I have added another Revolution Chocolate palette to my collection. I have many of these palettes, but I do believe that the releases are getting out of hand. Don't get me wrong, I get excited about new releases, but Revolution is churning out products so quickly, I find it hard to keep up. I now haven't been buying every single chocolate palette and have given up on the notion of needing each one in my collection. But, I am human, I can still be tempted, lol. Hence, the purchase of the Violet Chocolate palette. Such cute packaging!  As the name suggests, the palette features purples, there's also neutral tones and pinks. I'll show you some swatches. With so many eye shadow palettes, it's hard to choose a single eye shadow palette to play with. After a lot of rummaging, I decided to choose a palette with a lot of colours and a lot of choices and I just couldn't go past the Revolution Makeup (so weird to say it that way now that they changed it from Makeup Revolution) Makeup Geek palette. This palette contains 36 eye shadows, ranging from pinks, blues, purples, oranges, yellows and neutrals. So many options. As you can see from the swatches, some are nicely pigmented, other shades not so much. Of course I was still going to give these shadows a try. I found that over a sticky eye primer I was able to get even the least pigmented shimmers to perform. The Makeup Revolution Soph eye shadow palette is a collaboration with YouTuber Sophdoesnails. I can't say I had heard of Soph before, but after watching a few swatch videos I had to have this palette. The packaging is quite simple with gold writing over a rubbery textured pale nude colour, I like it. The inside is far from quite simple with many pops of colour. I'll show you a pic. So many fun shades, but a neutral look can also be achieved with this palette. After using the Naked Palette for a week, I couldn't wait to be playing with colour again. The mattes were great for crease work. I wasn't keen on that last black shade, but I rarely wear black shadow anyway. Actually that 2nd last brown next to the black wasn't the best either, but I could get use out of it in the crease. The shimmers were nice, but did need a base. Which is something I use anyway.
