February Empties

Image
I hope your year so far is going well. I am sad to see Summer ending, but Autumn is better than Winter, my least favourite time of year. I'll get to showing you the products that I finished in February. Not a bad month for empty products and products that I am decluttering. Skin Republic 24K Gold Aquagel Under Eye Patch- The pack contains 2 sets of serum infused patches for the under eye area. These worked well to plump out my crows feet. Repurchase? I really liked the results I got and would definitely consider buying in the future. Skin Republic Youthfoil Face Mask- I must say that this foil mask was fun to use. A nice mask to give the skin a hit of hydration, leaving soft, refreshed looking skin. Repurchase? It's not my favourite Skin Republic sheet mask, but I wouldn't be opposed to trying it again. Red Ginseng Essence Mask Sheet? A cloth sheet mask. Not much else to say really. Repurchase? I wouldn't bother trying to seek out this mask

Wotnot Anti-Aging Facial Sunscreen and Primer

Image
I may have found my HG sunscreen in the Skin79 Water Wrapped Sunscreen, but I am still on the search for an easily accessible sunscreen preferably in Australia and a physical option. The Wotnot Anti-Aging Facial Sunscreen and Primer was brought to my attention by a fellow member on my fave website Beauty Heaven. Taken from Wotnot- "Wotnot SPF 30 anti-aging facial sunscreen and primer uses the finest and most gentle natural extracts to protect, prime and brighten while Cosmos approved plant collagen helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles." The sunscreen is packaged in a 75 g squeeze tube with flip top lid which is the typical packaging for a sunscreen. This product is a thick consistency. Not surprisingly, it has a sunscreen scent, but it isn't strong. Although the sunscreen is a thick lotion it is easy to work with. I can distribute the product evenly across face and neck without too much effort. I have not experienced any uneven patches w

Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick

Image
I was pretty excited when I was invited by Beauty Heaven to trial the Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink liquid lipstick. I had heard the buzz over these new liquid lipsticks and couldn't wait to put one to the test. Taken from Maybelline - "Ink your lips in up to 16 hour saturated liquid matte. SuperStay Matte Ink features a unique arrow applicator for precise application and is available in 10 super saturated shades." The liquid lipstick comes in a squared plastic tube. The tube is the shade of the lipstick and it comes complete with a contrasting glossy white lid. The Matte Ink has a creamy consistency and smells so delicious having a gourmand vanilla frosting scent. The applicator of this lipstick is a sponge one, but it has a unique shape. The tip is a tear drop with a tiny well in the center. The pointed end of the sponge is great for precise application, whereas in the middle where you want the most amount of lipstick for the lips. I received the shade P

Nail Polish Declutter Update #4

Image
I will begin by admitting that this update was not a great one for wearing nail polish. I managed to try on 5, meaning that for 1 of the weeks I only wore 1 nail polish. I really need to up my game if I'm going to get this declutter done in this century!  Rich Pearl  Blue Illusion Avante Green Endless Blue I will be keeping Jelly and Endless Blue. This means I am getting rid of 3 nail polishes! Yes! I really liked the rich chocolate brown shade of Rich Pearl, but the formula is thick and hard to apply. I am not keen on the blue shade of Blue Illusion  and Avante Green is very sheer. Current tally of nail polishes is 24. Thanks for reading! xx

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

Image
Having extremely dry lips I figured that the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask might just be the product for me. Taken from Laneige - "Sleep-in mask for the lips, gently melts away dead skin cells leaving lips moist and supple the next morning." Available in the flavours Berry, Grapefruit, Apple Lime and Vanilla I opted for the Apple Lime.  The balm comes in a 20 g jar with screw top cap. Under the cap is one of those plastic removable lids. This product is quite a thick balm, but no thicker than other lip balms pots I have tried in the past. The balm comes complete with a little spatula to apply product. The product smells and tastes tart and fruity, so good! As the name suggests, I use this product at night. When I first started applying this lip balm, I did use the spatula. But since, I've just gotten lazy and apply with my finger. Something I've done with every other potted or tube balm I have tried in the past, lol. I find this product so s

Lipstick Declutter Update #1

Image
I am really enjoying trying on different lipsticks. It's nice to change things up and not get stuck in a rut that I can so often easily fall into. YBF but can't find a name Maybelline Color Sensational in Shocking Coral Urban Decay Lip Color in Glinda Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Siren in Scarlet Covergirl Outlast Lipstick in Shade 598 Makeup Revolution Matte Lipstick in Dare W7 Butter Kiss Lipstick in Pretty in Pink BYS Matte Lipstick in Disco Inferno The lipsticks that I am going to remove from my collection are Maybelline Shocking Coral, Makeup Revolution Dare and W7 Pretty in Pink. It's not so much the formula of these lipsticks, but for the fact that I already have these shades in formulas that I like better. Lipstick Tally- 10 Thanks for reading xx

Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activator

Image
I was fortunate enough to be invited by beauty website, Beauty Heaven , to trial the Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activator. I was excited because this is a product that because it is on the pricier side, I wouldn't buy for myself. The serum has been formulated to tone and refine skin causing it to look younger in 7 days! Huge claim. The serum comes in a beautiful tapered bottle that is black and fades to clear as it tapers  down at the bottom, so that you can see the product. The serum is dispensed through a dropper. But, this is Lancome, so it's no ordinary dropper. As the screw-top lid is opened the dropper is filled with the required amount for application to face and neck. It just feels and looks so luxe, complete with the well known Lancome flower imprint at the top of the dropper. So now that I have raved and it's clear that I adore the packaging, you probably really want to know about the actual serum. It is quite liquid in consistency. Although t

Makeup Look Featuring ColourPop

Image
It's probably no secret that I love ColourPop. I had been so tempted to buy throughout the year, but I only ordered twice last year, the biggest being towards the end of the year. I've been trying not to buy so much makeup, but there's times I just need to treat myself! I took the opportunity to buy some products that I had not tried before. The concealer is packaged in a tube with a wand. The applicator is unlike any I've tried before. It is more of a sponged paddle that's flexible. Applies the concealer just as well as a doe-foot. The consistency is quite creamy, I would say slightly thicker than the Maybelline FitMe concealer. I love this product, it blends nicely and covers my dark circles well. I did set with powder as a preventative step, I always do this with any concealer I'm using so it doesn't crease. I also bought the Precision Brow Pencil. One end there is a spoolie and the other is the wind up pencil. I'm glad I did

Current Skincare Routine 2018

Image
It's been a while since I showed you my current skincare routine. I have quite a few products waiting in the wings to be used, so I'm sure my routine will soon change. If I waited for my routine to stay the same, I would never get around to doing this post. Let's get into the products that I am using. I begin my routine in the morning with some Simple Toner on a cotton pad and massage across my face. I follow the toner with the Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner to give my skin a nice hydrating drench. I then spot treat my more lined areas with the Beauty By Nicholas No No Needles serum.  Before applying The Ordinary Buffet serum , (which I can't see leaving my routine for some time) I give my skin a spritz with rosewater. Next comes my eye cream, which I'm currently using the Dermalogica Total Eye Care. Once the eye cream absorbs, which is very quickly, I follow with a mix of the Jojoba Company Pigmentation Oil and Swisse Rosehip Facial Moisturiser.

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution

Image
I've been meaning to add glycolic acid (aha) into my skincare routine again. I had considered purchasing the much raved about Pixi Glow Tonic. Of course, I ended up going with a cheaper option, this one from The Ordinary. The Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution actually has a higher concentration of the Pixi Glow Tonic, which I believe is 5%. Taken from Deciem - "Glycolic Acid is an alpha hydoxyl acid that exfoliates the skin. This 7% toning solution offers mild exfoliation for improved skin radiance and visible clarity. The formula also contains a studied Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative to help reduce irritation associated with acid use. The formula is further supported with inclusion of ginseng root and aloe vera for both visible radiance and soothing benefits." The glycolic toner comes in a decent sized bottle with 240 ml of product. The bottle is clear with the simple Ordinary label slapped on. I actually really like the simple packaging, certainly runs with th
