Makeup Mess 2019 #2

Image
I really wanted to try one of my Dawn Eyes Cosmetics Premium loose eye shadows. They are multi-chrome, beautiful and needed to be applied to my lids. So, I took the opportunity to also create a Makeup Mess post. If you read my first Makeup Mess, you'll notice some of the same products, but I did change some things up. I'll begin with eye products. Elf Mad About Matte Eye Shadow Palette- I used 2 of these shadows in my crease, they make fantastic transition shades. Suva Beauty Block Party Eye Shadow Palette- I blended the navy blue shade into my outer "v". It is very pigmented, yet surprisingly blends easily, without being patchy.                                  Dawn Eyes Cosmetics Premium Eye Shadow in - I applied the star of the show on my lid over a sticky base. It is stunning, shifting from bronze to green to purple.  It's so hard to capture on camera, so take my wo...

June Empties

Image
Ok, so one month of Winter is now over...2 more to go. But, with how quick the year is going, the warm weather will be here before we know it! For those of us in the Southern Hemisphere, that is. Anyway I'm going to show you what I finished in June Not a whole lot of empties, but there's products finished none-the-less.  Skinn DermAppeal- One of my favourite products from the Skinn brand. It is a physical exfoliant that is quite abrasive which I like because it really smooths the skin. Repurchase? Of course I have a back-up! Skinn Hydro-Vital Serum - This dual-chambered serum is so hydrating. It's lightweight and feels silky smooth on the skin. Repurchase? I really prefer actives in my serum as I think a decent regular moisturiser can give me adequate hydration. It's a nice product, but I don't feel the need to purchase it again. Skinn PM Cleanser - This is a lovely cream cleanser that smells so delicious, like lemon meringue.  Repu...

Makeup Look Featuring Lime Crime Unicorn Lipstick in Varsity

Image
It's been so long since I've done a FOTD post. I thought what better opportunity to do one than feature my only Lime Crime Unicorn lipstick. I have the shade Varsity.  The packaging of the Unicorn lipsticks is gorgeous! I just love the mauve tube with holographic chrome. One side we have the Lime Crime logo, the other a unicorn. The lipstick is a muted rusty brown shade. It's a lovely creamy formula, that's moisturising on the lips, but not too slippery as to slide every where. It's nicely pigmented and I find it very easy to wear. For the rest of the makeup look I used Face Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation YBF Neutralizing Creme YBF Neutralizing Powder All Natural Face Apricot Finishing Powder Maybelline Fit Me Concealer MUA  Undress Your Skin in Iridescent Gold  highlighter Eyes Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bold Gold 88 Warm Palette YBF Universal Brow Pencil Bourjois Full Volume Mascara LA Girl Endless Black Gel Pencil Li...

May Empties

Image
As we say hello to June, I thought I'd share my May empties with you. Here's my strangely satisfying basket of empty products, so yes, rubbish! NS-8 Heel Balm Complex- A lotion for dry, cracked heels that acted as nourishing as a balm. My favourite way of using this product was to slather my feet at bedtime and cover with socks overnight. The result being super smooth feet. Repurchase? Yes, I would love to get my hands on some more of this! Skinn PM Cleanser - I finished 2 of these cleansers, 1 being full size, the other a travel size. A creamy cleanser that I used day and night because I no longer want to use gel cleansers. Repurchase? I still have another to use. Skinn Hydro-Vital Cream - A rich moisturiser that can be used day and night. Targeted for dry skin. Nice product, but I hate the packaging. I much prefer airless, or even a pump so I'm not dipping my fingers into the product. Repurchase? A fantastic moisturiser to hydrate the skin, b...

Easter 2017- Fun Makeup Look

Image
I have been a bit slack on the themed makeup front. I had some spare time yesterday, so decided to just go for it and have some fun with makeup. I didn't go too crazy or creative, I just had a bit of a play.  When I think of Easter, the colours that come to mind are pastel shades. Running with this idea, I decided that the perfect palette to use would be the BH Cosmetics Foil Eyes palette. I generally choose a makeup look based around the shades I want to use on my eyes. With all those beautiful foiled eye shadows to choose from, it wasn't easy deciding on the colours. In the end I chose a silvery pink for my lids, 1st shade in 2nd row. In the crease I used the 3rd colour in the 2nd row, a gorgeous mauve shade. On the lower lashline I used the eye shadow to the right of the mauve with the inner half of the lower lashline being the silvery pink. The rest of the makeup I used was Face Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation W7 Catwalk Concealer YBF Neutralizing Cre...

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25H Foundation

Image
I feel so behind the 8 ball when it comes to foundations. I was determined not to buy any until I needed a replacement no matter how many rave reviews of foundations I had read. When finally I did need foundation, I bought a few, the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25H Foundation With Comfort Serum (try saying that 10 times fast!) being one of them.   From Rimmel London (Aus)- "Instant perfect coverage that feels extra comfortable and lasts all day. Blends flawlessly, seamlessly, instantly and easily into the skin. Sweat, heat, humidity and transfer proof for up to 25 hours." The bottle is packaged in a 30 ml glass bottle with red lid and red accents on the label. I'm not a huge fan of the colour red, but actually like the look of this bottle. Lifting off the lid reveals a handy pump-top dispenser. The consistency of the foundation is creamy but I would still class it is a fluid. I always wear a separate SPF, but thought it was worth noting that this f...

Makeup Look Featuring Maybelline Color Drama Lip Pencil in "Fuchsia Desire"

Image
Thanks to the lovely Kat from Kats Colourings , I was lucky enough to win some lovely goodies, including the Maybelline Color Drama Lip Pencil in "Fuchsia Desire". Of course, being a beautiful hot pink, it was destined to be worn on my lips. The other makeup items I used were Face- Dermalogica Primer Silk Naturals HD Concealer Dr LeWinns Anti-Aging Concealer Silk Naturals HD Foundation Mirenesse BB Pore Powder I don't remember the name and brand of the blush, as I put it in a larger container for easier use, and of course threw out the small pol with label. Eyes- 88 Warm Palette Rimmel ScandalEyes Mascara Mirenesse Face Gel in "Black" UD 24/7 Eyeliner in YBF Universal Brow Pencil I'm officially in love with this lipstick pencil. Applies like a dream, feels comfortable. And. That. Pink!

Come Play With Me- "A Few of My Favourite Things"

Image
As the title suggests, this is all my favourite things. I'm concentrating on makeup here, otherwise this would take a loooong time. Although, I have many products I adore, I just wanted to create one makeup look. This was not an easy thing to do! I'll list all the makeup products that I used to create this look. As some products are in my daily rotation, I don't class all the items used as favourites. I'll give just a brief rundown of each, with included links to reviewed products. Face: Dermalogica Primer- One of the best primers I've used. Garnier BB Cream for oily/combination skin - HG BB cream, the only one I have bought a back-up for. Silk Naturals HD Peach Concealer - Fantastic at colour correcting my under-eye circles. Dr LeWinn's Antiaging Concealer Mirenesse BB Pore Powder - Perfect for setting my makeup, whilst providing a flattering blurred finish, pity about the smell. Mirenesse Marbled Blush in Carar...
