Makeup Mess 2019 #2

Image
I really wanted to try one of my Dawn Eyes Cosmetics Premium loose eye shadows. They are multi-chrome, beautiful and needed to be applied to my lids. So, I took the opportunity to also create a Makeup Mess post. If you read my first Makeup Mess, you'll notice some of the same products, but I did change some things up. I'll begin with eye products. Elf Mad About Matte Eye Shadow Palette- I used 2 of these shadows in my crease, they make fantastic transition shades. Suva Beauty Block Party Eye Shadow Palette- I blended the navy blue shade into my outer "v". It is very pigmented, yet surprisingly blends easily, without being patchy.                                  Dawn Eyes Cosmetics Premium Eye Shadow in - I applied the star of the show on my lid over a sticky base. It is stunning, shifting from bronze to green to purple.  It's so hard to capture on camera, so take my wo...

January Empties 2017

Image
After not doing an empties post for so long, I had to get back into the somewhat weird habit of keeping my empty products. Hence why I neglected the December installment, oops! I was able to finish a handy bundle of products, mostly skincare, of course. Skinn Wrinkle Soak- This mask is very hydrating. It smells divine, a sweet watermelon fragrance. It is also cooling on the skin which is nice in this warm weather. Repurchase? It's a nice mask. I would be happy to use it again, but I don't feel the need to seek this mask out. Garnier BB Cream for Combination to Oily Skin - I love how convenient BB Creams are. I like the evening of skintone I can achieve, giving me a hint of coverage whilst providing a radiant finish. The Garnier BB Cream for Combo skin is a fave of mine because it isn't too thick like some I have used and provides a decent amount of coverage for a BB Cream. Repurchase? This is my 3rd tube and I will be sure to buy again. Skinn Exfol...

Everyday Makeup Basket

Image
When it comes to my makeup, there are certain products that I use on a daily basis, well when I am wearing makeup. These include products that I prefer to use first before trying another as I don't like to have more than one open at a time. These products are foundations, concealers, powders and mascaras. I also include products that I am trying to finish and of course, my fave brow pencil. Yep, it's HG status and the only one that I use. To make these every day products more accessible, I store them in a handy basket in the bathroom. Whenever I do my makeup, I just simply remove the basket from a cupboard and place on the bench. The only product that doesn't fit is the 88 palette that I am panning. I just have that palette stored upright beside the basket. Too easy! My everyday products consist of Garnier BB cream L'Oreal Infallible Matte foundation W7 Catwalk Concealer Models Prefer Argan Infusion Concealer Silk Naturals Blur Powder ...

Come Play With Me- "A Few of My Favourite Things"

Image
As the title suggests, this is all my favourite things. I'm concentrating on makeup here, otherwise this would take a loooong time. Although, I have many products I adore, I just wanted to create one makeup look. This was not an easy thing to do! I'll list all the makeup products that I used to create this look. As some products are in my daily rotation, I don't class all the items used as favourites. I'll give just a brief rundown of each, with included links to reviewed products. Face: Dermalogica Primer- One of the best primers I've used. Garnier BB Cream for oily/combination skin - HG BB cream, the only one I have bought a back-up for. Silk Naturals HD Peach Concealer - Fantastic at colour correcting my under-eye circles. Dr LeWinn's Antiaging Concealer Mirenesse BB Pore Powder - Perfect for setting my makeup, whilst providing a flattering blurred finish, pity about the smell. Mirenesse Marbled Blush in Carar...

May Empties

Image
Another month, another empties post...   In May I finished quite a few products, and discovered some new favourite products. Wotnot Wipes- I bought a pack of 3 of these makeup wipes when on sale. Repurchase? I'm not sure, the wipes did a decent job of removing my makeup after my nightly oil cleanse. I am content using any brand that is cheap and does the job. FCUK Connect Perfume - This was a nice perfume to use, fruity and sweet. Repurchase? The longevity just wasn't good enough to warrant another purchase of this perfume. Skinn Vacuum Deep Pore Cleansing Mask - Ever since having a skin care routine, a clay mask has always been my weekly treatment. I've been using so many Skinn Cosmetics products of late and just had to try one of the brand's iconic products. Repurchase? I would consider after finishing up my current clay masks. I was using this mask 3 times a week, but because I was going through too much product, I cut back to once weekly. I found ...

Garnier Miracle Skin Cream

Image
I was gifted a sample of Garnier Miracle Skin Cream by website Beauty Heaven. It's not a cream I would have bought myself to use, but I was more than happy to try it. Taken from the Garnier website- " ...Instantly its self-adjusting formula is enriched with micro-pigments that provide natural coverage by adjusting to match your skin tone. Skin is immediately flawless, radiant and appears visibly younger. Enriched with 7 anti-ageing actives (LHA, pro-retinol, Vitamin C, Vitamin B3, firming peptides and ginger) + Spf15 protection, fights against the signs of ageing for lasting results. In 28 days, wrinkles and imperfections are reduced, complexion is more even and skin is firmer". The 5ml tube is good for a few uses. The consistency is rather light. The cream has a bright floral scent. Being an avid user of more natural scented products, it's always a surprise when I use a heavily fragranced product such as this one. It's not offensive in any way, I...

To Repurchase Or Not To Repurchase- Garnier BB Cream

Image
Reading a rave review of Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream for combination to oily skin lead me to buy the budget priced product. What Garnier claims that this product will do is, control shine, minimise pores, correct blemishes, even complexion, hydrate skin. Colour is provided thanks to the use of mineral pigments in the formula. The cream also has the added bonus of SPF 15. The product comes in a decent 40ml sized tube. By gently squeezing, product is released via a small opening. This allows for control of product. The consistency is a little more fluid compared to most eastern BB creams, yet it is not too runny. The scent is typical of a product containing sunscreen. I only really noticed when actually consciously sniffing it, rather than during application. Would I repurchase? Yes, I already have a back-up! I absolutely adore this BB cream.  It is definitely not a glorified tinted moisturiser. I get medium coverage and am happy to wear on its ow...
