SOTD- Oscar de la Renta "So de la Renta"

Image
Have you bought something based on a name? That's what happened with my purchase of "So de la Renta". I wanted an Oscar de la Renta product in my collection. It helped that it was a steal at Chemist Warehouse. Yeah, I often buy my perfumes there. "So de la Renta" has top notes of clementine, kiwi, gardenia, freesia, mango, watermelon and cardamon. Middle notes are peony, tuberose, jasmine sambac, lotus and narcissus. Base notes are plum, musk and vanilla. Upon first spray, this perfume is like a bouquet of flowers. I find the fruit notes to be more subtle than the florals, noticeable, but not enough to deem this fragrance fruity. After dry down, the scent develops a warmth, when the vanilla and musk becomes more apparent,  This is my favourite turning point of this perfume, unfortunately, that's when it begins to disappear from my skin. Thankfully, I can prolong the gorgeous tuberose, musky and rich sweetness by spraying on my clothes. This is where

Halloween Nails

Image
I wasn't sure that I was going to get a nail look done in time for today, but I did manage a simple Halloween look. I wanted to go for some fun colours, so used Kleancolour Neon Green, with Ulta3 Burnt Orange sponged lightly over the top. Ghoulish green and pumpkin orange seemed like a good combination. My favourite black, Orly Liquid Vinyl was the polish choice I made to stamp on the spider web design to finish my nail look. Have you created any looks for Halloween? If so, please link your post in the comments, I'd love to check it out! :)

Ciencia8- Collagen8

Image
I recently reviewed Arestaline8 , a product from the Ciencia8 range. I went into a little more detail on the range in that review. But, what I had forgotten to add is that the spa that treats customers with this range, no longer offers injectibles, as the customers simply do not find them necessary when using Ciencia8 in their skincare routine. Pretty amazing, huh? Another product that I am using from the range is Collagen8.  With a focus on hydration this serum is packed full of anti-ageing ingredients. As the name suggests, the natural collagen of the skin is maintained at a visible and invisible level.  The serum comes in a double barrel chamber, as the ingredients in each don't live well together, but are great on the skin once applied. The serum is gel like in consistency. One pump from each chamber in the palm of my hand is enough for face, neck and even hands. It just smooths over my skin with ease. It does become a little tacky to the touch as it dries, b

Palette Appreciation- BH Cosmetics "Eyes On The 80s"

Image
As mentioned in a previous post , I won a prize from the lovely Kat which featured an eye shadow palette with many beautiful bright colours.  Eyes on the 80s is available from very affordable online store, BH Cosmetics. Their regular prices are very reasonable, but there is always a sale that can be taken advantage of. I have found that the products that I have purchased have been of rather decent quality. I am always tempted by their new releases. Anyway, how about some swatches?? I like that there's some neutrals included in this palette. These swatches were done on bare skin, with my fingers. A couple of the shadows needed a couple of swipes, but most of them are quite pigmented. It was so hard to decide on my first colour combo. I had so many ideas running through my head. and couldn't wait to start creating!  My first look I opted for a simple one. I was going shopping, so didn't want to go crazy just yet, lol.  An outing

Simple NOTD Sunday- Mirenesse Bullet Proof "Burlesque Strip"

Image
If sexy was a colour, it would have to be red, right? Red lips to lingerie and today I have for you, red nails. I just love the classic red of Mirenesse Bullet Proof Nail Lacquer in "Burlesque Strip". The shade really makes a statement on the nails, even short stumpy ones like mine :)

SOTD- Alkemia Perfumes "Les Mysteres"

Image
Have you ever tried a perfume that you were not overly keen on, only to try it again at another point in time to have your opinion change? Well, this was the case when I applied indie perfume (available from Etsy) Alkemia Perfumes " Les Mysteres ". Described as " an opulent, resinous blend of aged frankincense, black figs, labdanum, dark amber, Russian tea, swirled in a trio of sensual musks ." My first impression of this fragrance was that is was too dark and woodsy. Yes, there was a sweetness offered by the fig note, but not enough to balance the bitterness. I put the sample away. That was then.. Months later, I decided to give it another chance. You see, if you haven't tried perfume oils, sometimes they can mellow over time.  Yep, it is still quite dark, but more in a velvety sensual way. The bitterness disappears shortly after application, to reveal a syrupy, incensy fragrance that still retains it's woodsiness. It is beautifully balanc

FOTD Featuring Mirenesse

I created a full faced look using Mirenesse cosmetics. Normally I wouldn't intentionally choose to use a certain brand, but this look was different. It is actually an entry into an Instagram competition. $250 worth of Mirenesse products on offer for posting a photo of yourself wearing Mirenesse makeup. I thought that I could share this look with you, too :) Finding enough products for a full makeup was easy. I had been a VIP member for some time, as well as subscribed to the makeup Glamm Box. NOTD- Mixing Nail Polish Finishes

Image
I was wanting to create some nail art, but what?? Well, I was already happy with my base colour that I was wearing, so I decided that I wouldn't remove it, but use it. Which also meant no base colour drying time, yay!  The polish I had already applied was Ulta3 " Triple Threat "  Wanting a textured polish, I chose to use LA Girl Sand Blast "Glissand"  One nail at a time, before the Sand Blast polish dried, I used a cuticle stick to create some simple lines. I wasn't overly keen on the mess I made of the pinky nail, but other than that, I liked the overall effect.  :)

Ciencia8- Arestaline8

Image
The brand, Ciencia8 had been on my radar for some time, thanks to demonstrations and rave reviews on TVSN. The Ciensia8 team are determined to always provide users with the latest in advanced skincare technology. This is possible thanks to extensive research and state of the art innovation in active ingredients by Lipotec in Spain. Arestaline8 is one of the most popular moisturisers in the range. It contains no less than 6 peptides, with a delivery system developed to ensure that ingredients enter into the lower level of the skin. This product is specially formulated to provide hydration to the skin, plumping out lines and wrinkles. The 50ml plastic jar is airless, thus protecting all active ingredients. Under the lid is a surface, that once is depressed, provides a metered dose of product. I find that  there is enough to moisturize not only my face, neck and decolletage, but I use any left over on my hands as well. I don't want to waste any!  The cream appears rathe
