Nail Art Wednesday

I've created a leopard print mani in the past and wanted to re-visit this fun and fairly easy to do pattern on my nails. OPI "Taupe-less Showgirls", Orly "Liquid Vinyl" and Sinful Colors "Boom Boom".  I love pink leopard print, I think it's so cute. I also wanted to change things up a bit, and try a pink and gold base, and then alternate the same polishes for the spots. I went for a golden champagne colour and a nice bright pink cream polish. My trusty Orly "Liquid Vinyl" was used to finish the leopard print. I adore the colour combo, I think they work well to compliment each other. Do you like the popular leopard print also?

Nail Art Wednesday

Today I have some ombre nails to show you. I really can't see myself getting tired of this beautiful shading trend. OPI "Passion", Sinful Colors "Boom Boom" and Color Club "Twinkle Peach" I was in need of pink nails, but wanted to start with a pale pink. "Passion" is a very nude pink, so I layered 2 coats onto my nails. There are many youtube tutorials for gradients/ombres, but I find for me personally, I like to just apply the polishes I'm using straight onto the sponge. I always paint my nails with the lightest colour before sponging on the ombre. To add a little sparkle I finished my manicure with "Twinkle Peach". It's a very sheer polish, so it didn't add colour to my nails, maybe a tint, but it still remained the pink that I wanted. Please excuse the remnants of my "clean up" obviously I didn't clean around my nails as well as I had thought, lol.

Dotticure

It had been some time since I'd pulled out my dotting tools. For such a simple implement, the possibilities are endless in terms of designs that can be created. Revlon "Carbonite", Sinful Colors "Endless Blue" and Australis "#bethatgirl". Using the gorgeous pewter shade of "Carbonite" as my base coat, I dotted on "Endless Blue" and"#bethatgirl". I didn't really have a design in mind, I just had a play, and well this is what I came up with.  I love the contrast of the blue and purple. I went with a larger dotting tool with the blue polish. A little flower to finish it off, because, why not! A nice way to welcome in Spring, I think :)

Sinful Colors "Boom Boom"

In need of pink nail polish? Well Sinful Colors "Boom Boom" is the shade for you! Cream finish pink, very pink. I'm really loving cream finished nail polish. I just love that it can look like gel nails. This pink is so gorgeous, makes me very happy!  What's your favourite finish when it comes to nail polish?

NOTD

I have been trying not to buy more nail polishes, but a colour will often catch my eye. Sometimes I can resist, a lot of the time I just can't. I was enamoured by "Let's Talk" and "Endless Blue", 2 Sinful Colors polishes that I just needed. Just look at those stunning colours, can you blame me?? ;) Mind you, "Let's Talk" is a vibrant metallic purple, not blue! Ugh. Well, because I could not choose which pretty to apply to my nails, my other option was to use both.  I began with a coat of "Let's Talk", I wish you could see the actual metallic purple, it's divine!  After a second coat of "Let's Talk", whilst wet, along both sides of the nail, I applied "Endless Blue" and Ulta3 "Crystallina" for a touch of sparkle. Then I simple ran a cuticle stick across my nail to swirl the polishes.  I found the technique effective in showcasing both polishes, and well, who doesn...

Glitter Gradient Nails

Image
I love glitter on nails, normally I just cannot get enough! For something a little different, I thought that I would try creating a gradient nail using a glitter polish. This meant that I had to control the amount of glitter applied to my nails, could I do it?? After one coat of Orly Bonder base coat, a step that I now no longer miss when applying regular polish, I applied 2 coats of Orly Liquid Vinyl. This is one of my favourite black polishes, especially if I'm using it as a base colour. One coat would probably be enough, but 2 gives a more even finish.  Wanting to incorporate an accent nail, I applied Sinful Colors Under 18 polish to both ring finger nails. Sinful Colors have such an array of shades that I always find it hard to choose colours. Under 18 is such a rich,  vibrant red colour, leaning towards orange. What a way to warm up this dreary weather! As with most polishes I use, I applied 2 coats. Over the base colour, I applied Femme Fatale Tricky Treat glitte...
