August Empties 2017

Image
Another month another empties post. You guys know the drill.  This past month I seem to be decluttering much more than I finished. I'll begin with these Alpha H travel sized products. Triple Action Cleanser- A gel cleanser that works to balance skin without drying it out. Repurchase? A great cleanser, but I now prefer cream cleansers. This one would have been fantastic when I was in my teens/early twenties. Micro Cleanse Super Scrub- A scrub formulated to exfoliate skin both chemically and physically. This is such a gentle exfoliator, the jojoba beads have no sharp edges, so they just glide over the skin as you massage over the skin. Repurchase? I prefer a more abrasive scrub to get rid of all those dead skin cells. Balancing and Pore Refining Mask- A clay mask that deep cleanses pores, whilst having properties that also soothe skin. Repurchase? A decent mask, but with my current stockpile of facial masks, I really am not in the market for another. ...

July Empties

Image
Well, July is over which means here in Australia we are 2/3rds of the way through Winter. It can't be over quick enough for me, lol! This month I have more decluttered products than actual empties! I'll still be showing you the empties first. Skinn Enriched Softening Essence - This is a hydrating toning product. Instead of a cotton pad, I preferred to pat onto my skin after pouring a small amount into my hands, so that I get more product on my face. Repurchase? Yes! I love this stuff! Skinn Hylighten - This is an under eye roll-on for dark circles, which I certainly have. Repurchase? I didn't notice any improvement. I have used it in the past, but received it again in a value pack. I wouldn't buy it on its own. Skinn Hydro-Vital Eye Cream - The Hydro-Vital range is formulated to give maximum hydration to the skin. I don't have overly dry skin, but my under eye area is quite dehydrated. Repurchase? I loved this cream for plumping my crows fe...

Easter 2017- Fun Makeup Look

Image
I have been a bit slack on the themed makeup front. I had some spare time yesterday, so decided to just go for it and have some fun with makeup. I didn't go too crazy or creative, I just had a bit of a play.  When I think of Easter, the colours that come to mind are pastel shades. Running with this idea, I decided that the perfect palette to use would be the BH Cosmetics Foil Eyes palette. I generally choose a makeup look based around the shades I want to use on my eyes. With all those beautiful foiled eye shadows to choose from, it wasn't easy deciding on the colours. In the end I chose a silvery pink for my lids, 1st shade in 2nd row. In the crease I used the 3rd colour in the 2nd row, a gorgeous mauve shade. On the lower lashline I used the eye shadow to the right of the mauve with the inner half of the lower lashline being the silvery pink. The rest of the makeup I used was Face Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation W7 Catwalk Concealer YBF Neutralizing Cre...

House of Beauty Lip Hybrids- Lip Swatches

Image
I went into more detail of the lip hybrids in my last blog post . I thought for this post that I would get straight into the lip swatches. Oh, and please forgive my lack of application skill! Autumn - Metallic copper. 24K-   Liquid gold.   Miami - Creamy pink coral. Ravishing - Creamy true red.   Paradise - Slightly metallic pale gold. Charmed - Slightly metallic deep plum. Taupe - A rich, creamy neutral brown. In Love - Slightly metallic burgundy. Earthlink - Iridescent lilac with a hint of blue. Lotus - Iridescent pinky red. Oh, those close ups of my lips are brutal, lol. Unless you have people coming close to study your lips, I don't think a perfect application is imperative to a decent lip look. The photos of my face show that I can get away with slightly messy lips. Believe me I did try. By the end of trying on the different lip hybrids (on different days, my lips...

House of Beauty Lip Hybrids

Image
Since becoming so active on Instagram, I have discovered even more indie makeup brands. As you would know, I absolutely adore eye shadows, but surprisingly, I was drawn to an online store selling only lip products. Actually known as lip hybrids, these were different to any lip product I had used in the past. Owner, Lyn explains best on her website " It's not as liquified as a gloss, but not completely solid to be a lipstick. It is a beautiful creamy mixture, which makes a high quality lip hybrid that is also buildable, and usually has a staying power between 4-8 hours.  It is highly pigmented that a little dab goes a long, long way for full coverage. We also offer unique colours to fit all of your different personalities. All creamy glosses are hand-made with love, 100% natural and are exclusive fully pigmented lip colours that come in a 5 ml jar." Now when I purchased, the brand was called Premium Vanity. The product quality is the same, there's just been a ...
