Shop My Stash Palette Edition- Urban Decay Theodora Palette

Image
I recently spent a couple of days playing with the Urban Decay Glinda palette, so it only seemed fitting for me to use the Theodora eye shadow palette next. This palette has a darker earthier theme, compared to Glinda. Apart from the third shade, the shadows swatched well. I like the green shades, but once again felt underwhelmed by this palette. The golden shade I used on the second eye look resulted in lots of fall out, which I'm not a fan of. And yes I did my eye look before my foundation.  This palette is safe for now, just like the Glinda palette, I am keeping because of the packaging and if I'm honest, because I spent a lot buying both palettes.

Shop My Stash Palette Edition- Urban Decay Glinda Palette

Image
Can you believe I've had the Urban Decay Oz eye shadow palettes for years and have only managed to swatch the shades? Admittedly I bought the palettes for the packaging, but I really had planned to use the eye shadows as well. Today I will be showing you the Glinda palette. Apart from the deep plum shade, these shadows are quite light colours. As Glinda is the "good" witch, it makes sense that the shades would be on the pastel side. I'll show you some swatches. The shades perform well swatching with my finger. I like the golds, but I must say that the palette as a whole did not excite me. In fact, I only managed to create 2 eye shadow looks and was looking forward to trying a different palette. If it weren't for the packaging, I would almost certainly part with this palette. I'll show you the eye looks.

Shop My Stash Palette Edition- Urban Decay Naked Palette

Image
I thought I'd go old school with this Shop My Stash blog post. I decided to play with the Urban Decay Naked palette mostly because although I've swatched it a few times, I have used it one time on my lids. It is one of my oldest palettes that I own and I wanted to take the opportunity to get a few days use out of it. We all know what this palette looks like, but I'll go ahead and post pics anyway Now onto the swatches The only shades that I'm not that keen on this palette are the matte black and shimmery charcoal, they're not bad quality, I just don't generally use those shades. The mattes blend nicely and the shimmers apply well and are fine on their own, but if needed can be intensified with a damp brush. I did like the looks I was able to create, but it did not take long for me to get bored just using this palette. I like colour on my lids. The Urban Decay Naked eye shadow palette for me makes a great companion palette for a shimmer...

Face of the Day Featuring 88 Warm Palette

Image
This year I have been panning (or trying to use up) an eye shadow palette. I was using the 88 Warm palette on a daily basis for eye contouring, so decided I would go for gold and see if I could empty the pans. So far, I've finished 36 pans, removing the pan once it's done which is so satisfying! My goal was to totally finish it, but I'm probably going to bin the palette when I've used the shadows that I enjoy using. I'm not really one to wear greys and silvers, plus there's some colours that don't have enough colour pay off for my liking. To be honest, I'm pretty stoked to get this far!  Face W7 concealer Garnier BB cream for oily/combo skin Models Prefer Argan concealer Silk Naturals Bronze Blur Powder 88 Warm palette for bronzer, highlight and blush Eyes 88 Warm palette ColourPop Cosmetics eye shadow in Cornelius YBF Universal Brow pencil Poni Cosmetics White Knight Mascara Urban Decay 24/7 eye liner in Bourbon ...

FOTD Featuring YBF Fashion Favourite Eye Palette

Image
I received the YBF palette as part of an auction that I won on eBay. I was actually really after a couple of other items for sale, but was not unhappy that this palette was coming my way, too. I'll show you just how cute it is! Hello bling! On the back includes an easy pictorial on how to use the shades for a complete eye look. 4 shades complete this palette.   To complete my FOTD I also used NYX BB Cream, Silk Naturals Peach HD Concealer, Elf Mineral Eye Shadow Primer, Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in "Bourbon", Mirenesse Superlong Wear Gel in "Black", Rimmel Scandaleyes Extreme Black Mascara, Smashbox "Smashing Print" Lip Liner, Earthen Glow Minerals "Seaside" Lip Gloss. Oh yes, this palette is a keeper! It's not the usual crazy vibrant colours that I generally gravitate towards, but it's a handy palette to contour, as well as create looks that will go perfectly with a bold lip. Mind you, I th...

June Favourites

Image
Because my May Favourites post was my first ever of this kind, I had quite a few products to show you. In an effort to not be too repetitive with my most loved products, I'll try not to mention the same faves, well not in every post, lol. Models Prefer Professional Precision Foundation Brush   Wow that's a mouthful! I use makeup brushes on a daily basis. I have a decent amount. To me they are a necessity, I don't generally get excited about them. Out of all the brushes I've used, this one is my favourite. It only has one purpose in my makeup routine, and that's to blend out my under eye concealer. This brush is the perfect shape and density. I can get into the corner of my under eyes with the tapered tip. Blending is a breeze, no streaks. Love, love, love this brush, and now want to try more from the Professional Brush range that Priceline's own brand has on offer. Models Prefer Infinite Lip Liner in "Clearly Sealed" Ano...
