Dose of Colors Friendcation Palette

Image
I already had the Dose of Colors palette from the original DesiXKaty collab, so it was a no brainer to add the Friendcation palette from the newest collab to my collection. Once again the packaging is gorgeous, with the metallic mesh finish. Instead of 4 shades, this palette offers 10. There are matte shades as well as shimmery, making for a shadows that provide transition, crease and lid options. Swatches were done with my finger on bare skin. Photos taken in direct sunlight, which did compromise the swatches, washing out some of the actual pigmentation, unfortunately.  The mattes do have some kick up, but blend like a dream. The shimmers are quite soft and a little flaky, especially the second shade on the bottom row. They can be applied by a brush, but a more pigmented foiled finish is achieved when using a finger. I love an olive shadow and this one is gorgeous Although a flaky eye shadow, the champagne shimmer on my inner

Lipstick Declutter Update #17

Image
Only a few more declutters to go before I have my lipstick collection sorted. Here's what I am keeping in this update. DB Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in Survivor I don't feel the need to keep this red, plus I'm not a fan of the formula. NYX Simply Red Lip Cream This is a lovely red and is comfortable to wear, but I'm just not a fan of glossy formulas, especially when it comes to bright shades. Decluttering. NYX Liquid Suede in Tea and Cookies I find this shade too pale for me and I know I just won't wear it. The mini is going. Dose of Colors Liquid Lipstick in Mauve Story This lipstick is new to me, so I will be keeping it. I like the shade and formula, so am happy to hang onto it. DB Longwear Matte in Stayput I like the shade, but it's not unique to my collection, plus I'm not a fan of the dry formula. Decluttering. The shade name sticker has fallen off this BH Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick. The metallic ros

Nail Polish Declutter Update #17

Image
I'm back again with another nail polish declutter update.  Aztec Orange Love it, keeping it! Diamond Although this polish doesn't look too special in this photo, it is so gorgeous in sunlight and would look so good over a base colour. Keeping! I can't find a shade name for this Color Club polish, but I won't be keeping it. The polish was patchy to apply and I just don't need another blue that I realistically probably won't reach for. Purple Passion is such a gorgeous purple that will be staying in my collection. I can't have too many purples apparently!  I'm not sure what the name of this polish shade is, but I've decided that I don't need it in my stash. Animate This is a pretty red glitter, but it applies patchy, so I am decluttering it. Red Hot Chilli Pepper I didn't think I needed yet another red, but I don't actually have a shade like this metallic red, so it will be stayi

April 2019 Empties

Image
As we welcome the month of May, I will show you what I finished and decluttered in April. My basket looks quite full, but I'm sure you know by now, there's mostly decluttered products in there. Sukin Facial Moisturiser- This is a simple cream, it's decent, but I no longer find it moisturising enough. I won't be buying again. Moreish Cream Cleanser- My fave cream cleanser that not only cleanses my skin, but leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. I am sad that I have only 2 of these cleansers left. I love them but they are no longer available. Skinn Hydro-Vital Mask- This mask is like a gel to apply. It goes on nicely and feels cooling on the skin. My issue with it, however, is that it is hard to remove. The product is quite thick and it just sticks to the skin and face washer which is hard to clean between swipes on the face. I didn't see any great difference in my skin to warrant bothering with this mask again. Ciencia8 Lip Correct- I

Makeup Mess 2019 #2

Image
I really wanted to try one of my Dawn Eyes Cosmetics Premium loose eye shadows. They are multi-chrome, beautiful and needed to be applied to my lids. So, I took the opportunity to also create a Makeup Mess post. If you read my first Makeup Mess, you'll notice some of the same products, but I did change some things up. I'll begin with eye products. Elf Mad About Matte Eye Shadow Palette- I used 2 of these shadows in my crease, they make fantastic transition shades. Suva Beauty Block Party Eye Shadow Palette- I blended the navy blue shade into my outer "v". It is very pigmented, yet surprisingly blends easily, without being patchy.                                  Dawn Eyes Cosmetics Premium Eye Shadow in - I applied the star of the show on my lid over a sticky base. It is stunning, shifting from bronze to green to purple.  It's so hard to capture on camera, so take my word for it, this shadow is amazing! Nads Universal Brow Pencil-
