Makeup/Skincare Black Friday Haul

I can finally show you my Black Friday haul. I had almost all of my parcels, except for one, my Beauty Bay order. Almost a month later and it arrived. I wasn't thrilled, but at least I got it.

Ok, I'll start with the skincare. Mostly The Ordinary. but all under the Deciem umbrella. Beauty Bay was my first order of the Ordinary products, then Deciem revealed their Black Friday sale that I just couldn't resist.

My order contained Azelaic Acid, Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA, Buffet, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F, "B" Oil, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Caffeine Solution + EGCG and I needed to stock up on the Glycolic Acid Toner.

From Deciem I bought High Spreadability Fluid Primer x 2, Heel Chemistry cream x 2, Lactic Acid 10% + HA x 2, NIOD Survival 0 Serum x2, Buffet and Retinol 1% in Squalane.

Let's just say I'm pretty stocked up on the Ordinary, however there are still other products from the line that I want to try!

I had to place my annual Revolution haul and bought a little something for myself. Ok, it's a big something! But, so cute that I just couldn't resist, and half price, too!

Inside was the Red Velvet eye shadow palette, Peanut Butter Cup eye shadow palette, Praline face palette and Chocolate Heart Shimmer Bronzer.

And here's a look inside.

I couldn't resist the deal on the Block Party and Saffron palettes from Suva Beauty.

An array of colourful and warm tones, yes please!

It's been a long time since I have been tempted by loose eye shadows, but Dawn Eyes Cosmetics Premium range had me adding them to my cart

Instead of just showing you what is in the pots, I thought I'd show you the swatches of these beautiful eye shadows. Stunning!

Some goodies from Dose of Colors.

I've been wanting the DesiXKaty Friendcation palette since they released it, but waited patiently knowing that DOC would have a Black Friday sale. Of course, I had to add some other products to my order as well.

Last, but not least, I was so excited to place my first ever Mecca order.

For the longest time I've been wanting to try both the Stila Magnificent Metals and Too Faced Melted Matte liquid lipsticks. I couldn't really justify full sizes, so when the minis Christmas packs were released, I knew they had to be mine.

Well, that's Black Friday shopping done for another year!

Blog Goals

I hope 2018 has treated you well. As it closes, I have been thinking about the direction I want my blog to go next year. I guess actually blogging would be a good start. I know my schedule has been sporadic the last few months and I can't promise that I will have set days and number of posts per week, but I do want to continue blogging. I just don't want to churn out content because I feel obliged. Blogging is a hobby of mine and hobbies are meant to be enjoyed.

I want to continue both my lipstick and nail polish declutter series. I also plan on more of a "shopping my stash" overall theme, because I don't want to keep adding to my makeup collection. Not to say that I won't buy any more, but I want to be more mindful of my spending, so that means that I will remain on a low buy. Especially after my Black Friday hauls, which I do plan on blogging but am still waiting on my products from Beauty Bay.

A project pan is a possibility, however, I have been enjoying using more of my collection, rather than trying to finish a product. I will keep it in mind, though.

Of course, I will be posting my Empties and also reviewing products. I will try and write up more Favourites posts, but not monthly because I don't introduce new items often enough.

Anyway, that concludes my blog goals for next year. No huge changes, but hopefully still worth reading.

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas! xx

Lipstick Declutter Update #12

Ok, I am so behind with these declutters. I have been trying on lipsticks and taking photos, but neglecting to write them up. As you can see in this update I am wearing Winter clothes, and well,  now it's Summer. How about I just show you what lipsticks I decluttered in this update :)

Doll Hospytal Lipstick in Melon Collie

Hi Selfie Esteem

Overspender

These 3 lipsticks are new and although they are not necessarily unique shades to my collection, I really like the formula and most of all the cause supported by the owner. She wants to destigmatize mental health.

Lime Crime Liquid Lipstick

I didn't expect to like this shade of lipstick, but I really do! It will be staying in my stash.

ColourPop Lippie Stix in Frida

This is such a flattering peachy shade, no way am I decluttering it.

ColourPop Luxe Lipstick in Still Crazy

This pink shade is not a unique colour to my collection, but the lipstick is and I really like the formula. Lipstick is staying.

ColourPop Luxe Lipstick in Tip Toe

This is quite a pale nude shade, that I'm not quite sure suits me, but I will keep it around because it's new. If I don't find myself reaching for Tip Toe, I will declutter it.

Lime Crime Diamond Crusher in Cheap Thrill

I really shouldn't be keeping all of these glittery lip toppers, but they're so pretty! Staying in my collection for now.

Urban Decay Super Saturated Lip in Thedora

The colour is gorgeous and looks so luscious in a glossy finish, but unfortunately gets messy throughout wear. Decluttering.

Well, that means I am only decluttering one lip product. Not very successful, but the heart wants what the heart wants!

Lipstick collection is now at 67

Nail Polish Declutter Update #13

I hope you are keeping your sanity this crazy time of year. I am holding on, but barely by my fingernails, it seems. Ok, I'm being dramatic, but I find that this time of year you're either super excited about Christmas, or if you're like me, the Grinch. What I have still been doing is trying on nail polishes, I'll show you.

I'm not sure on the shade name, but I adore this pink shade. It has a soft textured finish. Definitely keeping!

Cyberspace

I like the holo, but not really keen on the pale blue, it's not opaque enough for my liking. I'm saying goodbye to this one.

This black holo is so gorgeous in the bottle, but on the nails? Nope, it's washed out and patchy. Decluttering.

Shade 01

Although not such a special polish on its own, this turns any nail polish colour into a holo, so I decided to keep it to play with.

Fantasy Fire

I'm keeping this nail polish topper. It doesn't look so special on its own, but does its magic over an opaque nail polish.

I can't find a shade name for this polish, but I really like the pastel mint colour with glitter pieces.

Chunky Holo Purple

This is a very pretty purple glitter topper, but I don't need another so will be decluttering this polish.

 Chunky Holo Candy

This is a hard one, I like it, but do I need it? No. Being brutal and saying goodbye.

Well, I am throwing away 4 out of the 8, so I'd call that a success.

So for now I have 62 polishes staying in my collection.

November Empties

So, it just occurred to me that I was about to write up my last empties post for the year, which is crazy to me. But, you're not here to read about me crowing on about how fast the year has been flying by. Onto the Empties....

If this were a declutter post, I would call it very successful, but alas it is not. I didn't finish much in November.

Skin Republic Green Tea Mud Sheet Mask- This is the first clay mask in sheet mask form that I had used thanks to a blog prize I won from the lovely lady behind Kats Colourings. It cleansed the skin whilst also providing a radiance to my face.
Repurchase? Yes, I really enjoyed this mask!

Skin Republic Pink Clay Mud Sheet Mask- Also in the blog prize was this version.
Repurchase? Possibly, but I did prefer the Green Tea one.

Eaoron Instant Whitening Face Mask- A hydrating sheet mask formulated to brighten the skin. I found it to be a good fit. I didn't see much in the brightening of my skin, but it did hydrate nicely.
Repurchase? No, I can't even remember where I bought it from.

Touch In Sol Dark Out Long Lasting Primer Base- This is a tinted face primer. I chose it for the peach tint, which I generally find suits my skintone. The tint seemed to disappear once blended into my skin, but makeup did apply well over this primer.
Repurchase? I really enjoyed this primer at first, but then really didn't notice much difference when not using it. I won't buy again as I'm preferring a regular moisturiser or sunscreen underneath my makeup, not to this primer in particular, just in general.

Urban Rituelle Body Lotion- I finished this travel sized body moisturiser. Although I didn't love this particular floral scent, it was nice and moisturising.
Repurchase? Probably not, I usually buy random body products, I don't think I've ever bought the same one twice.

Now Dark Spot Serum- I have a lot of pigmentation and am willing to try most serums that promise to reduce the look of it. This serum actually delivered results. Ok, my pigmentation is still visible, but I noticed not only an improvement, but my skin just looked brighter over-all.
Repurchase? I have other serums to use, but I will most likely buy this one again.

The Jojoba Company Lemon and Coconut Hand Cream- I recently finished this travel size hand cream. Apart from the jojoba oil, this is the only product from this company that I actually really liked.
Repurchase? I doubt it.

Nivea Hyaluron Cellular Filler Day Cream- This was a rich cream that was perfect for use in the colder months when my skin becomes drier. But, it took me some time to get used to the strong soapy scent.
Repurchase? I would consider buying this moisturiser again when it starts to get cooler.

Carla Oates Beauty Fix Balm- This balm is very thick, similar to vaseline in consistency, but less sticky with far better ingredients.
Repurchase? This is a fantastic everything balm, but I just didn't find myself in need of it. I used it on my heels so I could finish the balm before it expired. So no, I won't repurchase.

I shouldn't feel good ridding my stash of so many lipsticks. But, I do. Apart from the buyer's remorse, it feels great to be making my lipstick collection one that I will love, rather than so many collecting dust!

I am decluttering the MUA powder because I now never use it and it is years old.

The ColourPop Super Shock shadow in Glow is a matte cream. I persevered to use it as an eye shadow base, but it was way too light and I got very over using it.

The ColourPop Eye pencils are a fantastic formula, but I find that many of the ones I've bought including this one separate from the casing.

I've only used the ColourPop No Filter Foundation a handful of times but the colour is wrong for me. Too dark, too orange and I just don't like the formula. I am disappointed, because I love most ColourPop products that I have tried but this just doesn't work for me and I'm going to let it go.

And here's the palettes that I just don't love. They're not bad, but just ok doesn't belong in my collection! :)

Beauty By Nicholas Eye Alchemy

I have been waiting patiently for some time now to use the Beauty By Nicholas Eye Alchemy. I like to finish existing products before opening new ones, and it felt like the eye cream I was using was just not giving up.

Taken from Priceline- "Ditch dark circles, bags and crow's feet with instant eye candy. This highly effective formula is gentle on your delicate eye area, to instantly smooth and brighten without painful procedure."

The eye cream comes in the typical packaging of the Beauty By Nicholas range. I really like the classy look of the chrome cylinder, but I also find it inconvenient not knowing how much is left in the container. Dispensing the product can be done through the pump top dispenser.

The consistency of the eye product is that of a light weight serum.

Although I normally love a pump top dispenser, I find that this one can get messy as the pump can squirt the product out too quickly, plus for me it's too much product for an application. I now just gently press on the pump barely making the mechanism move, I do this until I get the half a peas size needed for each eye.

Being so light weight the serum absorbs very quickly, making it a great product for day and night skincare routines.

After 3 weeks of use, there is no change to my dark circles, which I've come to expect with eye products no matter the so-called promises. I still have puffiness. What I have noticed is a tighter eye area, with my fine lines reduced thanks to plumping out this delicate area.

So far, I am not wowed by the Beauty By Nicholas Eye Alchemy. It hydrates my under eye area nicely and I am happy to finish the product, but it would have to really ramp up results for me to repurchase.

Lipstick Declutter Update #11

I'd like to say that I am still going strong with this lipstick declutter. I am determined to continue with it, but I am not wearing makeup as much lately, so it has slowed down some. Anyway here's the lipsticks I tried on in this update.

ColourPop Ultra Metallic in Kween

As much as this lipstick is such a stunning shade, I've made the difficult decision to declutter it. It's metallic and I just can't see myself realistically reaching for it. I've already bent the rules and kept a couple of others, so this one had got to go.

Savvy Lipgloss

I can't seem to find a shade name for this lipgloss, but it will be staying in my collection. It's nice on its own, but it would be nice over a neutral lipstick as well.

ColourPop Lippie Stix in Flawless

I've decided to declutter this lipstick. It's a nice deep shade, but I know I won't reach for it.

ColourPop Ultra Metallic in Salt

This was a hard decision for me. I wanted to keep it, but I don't really wear metallics, and I've already kept a couple from this range, so decided that this one needs to go.

ColourPop Ultra Matte in Tulle

Wow, I look very goth and pale in this pic. Anyway, I'm not a fan of this shade, so I will be decluttering.

MUA Liquid Lipstick in Reckless

I found the formula of this liquid lipstick to set with a tacky finish, which I don't like. It is a lovely shade, but I have others with nicer formulas. Yep, this one is going.

Maybelline Color Sensation

I'm not sure on the shade name of this lip product. It's a nice pink colour, but I won't reach for it, so I will be decluttering.

NYX Lip Gloss in Amethyst

I considered keeping this lip gloss because it adds a nice tint to the lips and I could imagine it would be nice over a lipstick. I have other lip glosses that I can use in the same ways, and I don't need this one, too.

Wow, I will only be keeping one of these lip products, I'd call that a declutter  success!

My lip products now total 60.

October Empties

Another month, another rubbish blog post. Well, me posting about my rubbish, anyway!

It's actually a little misleading calling this an Empties post because I have way more items that I am decluttering. Firstly, I'll show you what I finished anyway

Papa Recipe Bombee Royal Honey Propolis Sheet Masks- I finished off the box of these masks and as much as I ended up quite liking them, there's so many sheet masks that I want to try.
Repurchase? I'm not in any hurry to restock these.

Hand Chemistry Triple-Function Hyaluronic-Rich Hydrator- This hand cream is quite light weight, which is great for applying during the day, and does a nice job of hydrating the hands.
Repurchase? I would consider buying this hand cream again. If I'm to be honest, though, I'm not that fussy with hand creams and I don't seek out particular brands, just whatever sounds good.

Sierra Bees Unflavored Lip Balm- I finally finished off this pack of lip balms. I found them good to throw in my hand bag.
Repurchase? I'm not in need of lip balms, but I wouldn't rule out buying these again if they're still available on iHerb.

Moreish Cream Cleanser- This is a regular in my skincare routine.
Repurchase? I would if I could, but it has been discontinued.

Hand Chemistry Hyaluronuc Body Mist- I love the fine mist of this body moisturiser. I wish I had have saved this product for Summer, because it is light and refreshing and leaves my skin soft and hydrated.
Repurchase? No, I really liked the effectiveness of this body mist, but I just didn't like the scent. It reminded me of the disinfectant smell of hospitals. I don't like hospitals.

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm- I loved using this balm for removing my makeup. Less messy and effective.
Repurchase? No, loved it, but this product costs more than I am willing to pay for a makeup remover, especially when the budget friendly Simple Cleansing Oil works just as well at removing makeup.

Morphe M501- I used this brush to apply my highlighter. Did a fantastic job for this purpose, but has started shedding, so time to go.
Repurchase? I would buy this brush, but am not making an online order for one brush and I'm not ready to place a bigger order just yet because of my low buy.

As you can see, I am decluttering 4 palettes (there's a small one in the following photo). I can't believe I am parting with palettes, but I'm trying to reform my hoarding ways and thin my rather large eye shadow collection. If I can't give them love, they've got to go!

...aaaand more decluttered products.
