EOTD- Using the Star Treatment Palette

Image
I've been wanting to get my hands on Bare Minerals Star Treatment Palette for some time. What really caught my eye was the second shade Connoisseur. A gorgeous bronzey tan colour, which I had nothing like in my make up collection.   It comes in this sleek silver packaging, simple, yet classy. I do like the look, but keeping it smudge free is near impossible, because I can't keep my grubby little hands off of it, lol. To be honest, it is a lot smaller than I imagined, but on the other hand, it is compact enough to travel with. Don't let this pic deceive you, they are not ordinary neutrals. I just love how rich the pigment is. The black is not at all chalky and does not lack pigment, as is common with a lot of black shadows. They are soft and creamy, yet product is transferred well without crumbling or fall out. I just had to get the eye shadow Connoisseur onto my lids..and WOW it did not disappoint! I put the fourth shade Ritzy in my crease and

I bought some nail art polishes from Ebay such a long time ago, and hardly ever use them. They were just some cheapies, but I thought they'd be fun, and great for practising. I had already decided I was going to use a purple base colour and just wanted to add a splash of colour. I opened my top nail polish drawer that contain the nail art polishes. After some deliberation, I just couldn't go past the red, definitely a splash of colour..a very noticeable splash of colour, lol. After applying Orly Bonder base coat, I went ahead and applied Borghese Rapido nail polish. It is only labelled as a numbered shade. I'd never heard of this brand of nail polish before, but I came across it in one of my favourite ways of shopping..in a bargain bin :) The colour just stood out, and I had to have it. My nails required 3 coats to get a nice opaque colour that wasn't streaky. It is quite a thin formula, but it does dry quickly, so applying 3 coats isn't that much of a dr

Any reason is a good reason for make up, a shopping trip was enough for me! Though, to be completely honest, I often apply make up even when I am not going any where. I find it relaxing, and just love the art of applying, and if all goes well, I feel good afterwards :) These are the products that I used for this look In attempt not to bore you, anything I have covered in other blog posts, I won't go into detail. Foundation is my custom EveryDay Minerals mix..yes, I'm still trying to use it up.  Performance Colours concealer sample in Light/Medium. It's like the never ending sample pot, I've gotten so many applications, which is a good thing, because I love this concealer! I used the Nude By Nature brown eye pencil on my brows. I find that it tugs a little when applying to my lashline, but while this is not an ideal quality for my lids, I find it great for applying to my brows. Using a liner that is not too soft makes it

NOTD- A Touch of Class, A Touch of Glitter

In the hope of creating a new look for my nails, I reached for my nifty little nail stickers. I bought a bunch from ebay, so had a nice selection to choose from. I really wanted to use a silver nail polish for my base colour, so decided that black stickers would contrast nicely. Of course, Orly Bonder was applied first, as this base coat is FABULOUS :) I then applied 2 coats of Naturistics nail polish in Chrome Crazy. I had not only never used this brand of nail polish before, but had not even heard of it. I just happened to come across it, thanks to an ebay store selling cheap nail polish. This is such a striking silver colour, that gave me perfect coverage after 2 applications. Next were the stickers. I began with the graduating flower stickers. I went ahead with a feature nail, and applied the extra flower sticker to my ring fingers. Although, the cute black designs on a silver backdrop looked fine, I felt that I needed a touch of colour. This is where I reached for Sati

Mission Accomplished- Majolica Majorca Eye Liner

Image
Majolica Majorca Perfect Automatic Liner: I love all make up, but if there's two products that I can't live without, it is mascara and eye liner. For many years, I never felt comfortable using anything but eye liner pencils. There was no way that I wanted to try a product that required a brush, and liquid liner was definitely out, lol. Well, that's until I began experimenting more and felt the need to expand my collection, adding new products. Thanks to ebay, I was able to get my hands on two Majolica Majorca Perfect Automatic Liners (a recommendation from a friend, that thankfully I followed, not that it takes much to convince me to buy make up, lol) Majolica Majorca is a division of Shiseido, same quality, yet cheaper, gotta love that! :) The liners come in 7 different blackened shades With much deliberation, I chose the shades green and gold, but to be honest, they both looked black to me,  Releasing product is simple, it is achieved by twisting the bottom

A Spotlight on J'Adore Les Levres Liquid Lipsticks

Image
I can't resist a good sale, and when Sweet Pea & Faye announced their sale, it was the perfect opportunity to try the lip products that I had wanted to get my hands on for some time. A just had to grab some more eye shadows also! RIF RAF: Purple hued cocoa brown. COPPER BIRD : Metallic copper shimmer. LICKITY SPLIT : Golden olive shimmer. In my attempt to cut down on eye shadow spendings, I only chose 3 eye shadows. These are gorgeous to use. Easy to blend, great pigment and adhere well. J'Adore Les Levres liquid lipsticks... PAPER CUT :  Mauve pink. APOCALYPSE: Deep pink I thought that these liquid lipsticks were dupes of OCC lip tars, not so. Lip Tars are not as thick and seem to have more of a glossy sheen. The top pic is OCC Lip Tar.  Having a lighter consistency may seem like a positive, but I find that Lip Tars can be difficult to work with. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the J'Adore Les Levres. They are

Flaming Orange Nails

Image
On my nails, I wanted sparkles, and I wanted colour. Well, I certainly got both with this nail look :) I started with a coat of Orly Bonder, my must have base coat. After having nail polish last almost chip free for almost a week, instead of a couple of days (if that!) It is totally worth including this step when applying nail polish. For the base colour, I chose Rimmel Play Fast nail polish in Mouthy, a golden orange. It applied on the sheer side, so it took 3 coats for a coverage that I was content with. For the sparkle element of this look, I used Femme Fatale Tricky Treat from the Halloween collection (a review of my latest Femme Fatale purchase will follow in the not-too-distant future). This polish contains orange, fuchsia and dark glitter, there are also lengths of gold. To achieve plenty of sparkle, I had to apply 4 coats. I love the finish of this polish, the only con is that some of the gold strips come away from my nail, however, gently pulling at it to remov
