March Empties 2017

Image
Ok, so that time of the month has come around that I get to show you my rubbish. Only the beauty rubbish of course. I got through a few makeup and skincare items and some items that I am binning unfinished. L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation - I don't think I have ever bought a high end foundation. It takes some trial and error to find a good one, but I'm always glad that I'm not paying too much. In saying that, the L'Oreal Infallible foundation is quite expensive at RRP, so I bought it during the Priceline 40% off sale. Repurchase? I am not in need of any foundations at the moment. When I do need a replacement, I really want to try the new Infallible foundation. If I'm not happy with it, I would definitely consider buying this one again. Skinn DermAppeal- I didn't think I would use a physical exfoliator again until I tried the Dermappeal. It is very gritty and is almost like a micro-dermabrasion at home. I use this product once a week, ...

February Empties 2017

Image
It's Empties time, so if you want to check out the products I finished in the month of February, keep on reading!  I only got through a handful of products this month. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Polish in White On- I didn't quite finish this polish. It had thickened and I really didn't there was enough left for me to bother adding a thinner. Repurchase? This white nail polish worked well. Even being opaque enough to use for stamping with. I would consider buying again. Burt's Bees Cleansing Oil- I was given this oil to trial. It worked extremely well as the first cleanse to remove makeup, even stubborn eyeliner. Repurchase? I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an oil cleanser, but I'm not sure I'd buy it. Only because I am content using my olive and coconut oil mix. Cougar, Sparkle Frost and Veridian Muse Love Potion Samples- I am so addicted to Love Potion Perfumes. They are available in oil or spray. Repurc...

L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation

Image
Being a makeup hoarder collector, it was actually a nice feeling to be buying a foundation because I needed it, not just wanted it. On my wishlist for quite some time was the much talked about L'Oreal Infallible Matte foundation. Yes, I know I'm late to the party, lol. Taken from Priceline - "Infallible Matte is an easy to spread, lightweight, liquid emulsion that is never dull and never cakey. Infallible Matte resists sweat, stress, heat and humidity with no shine and no mask effect." The foundation comes in a 35 ml plastic squeeze tube. A screw top lid covers a small hole dispenser. This product is a liquid foundation but is on the thicker side. It has a scent that I can only describe as that typical makeup smell, it's quite light so I don't really notice it to be honest. I have applied the foundation with a brush, sponge and my fingers. Each method works equally well. It is smooth and easy to apply and blend. I get a medium coverage ...

L'Oreal Revitalift Laser x 3 Dual Action Rejuvenation Moisturiser

Image
Thanks to beauty website Beauty Heaven , I was fortunate enough to be given the L'Oreal Laser x 3 Dual Action Rejuvenation Moisturiser to trial. Taken from Priceline - "The L'Oreal Laboratories have combined high concentrations of Vitamin C-G with Pro-Xylane in a dual moisturiser, formulated to work on and under the skin's surface to fight signs of aging."  I really appreciate the lovely red chrome-look and plastic packaging, a squared bottle that can sit proudly on my dresser. The moisturiser has a dual chamber, but the pump top dispenser combines both through the one nozzle. The top of the dispenser has a depressed curved section, perfect for the finger which when pressed pumps both serum so they can be applied together. One side stores the white moisturiser and the other side is a pinky colour, they are both of the same creamy consistency. Upon application I can detect the scent that is common to L'Oreal skincare. A nondescript floral fra...

Everyday Makeup Basket

Image
When it comes to my makeup, there are certain products that I use on a daily basis, well when I am wearing makeup. These include products that I prefer to use first before trying another as I don't like to have more than one open at a time. These products are foundations, concealers, powders and mascaras. I also include products that I am trying to finish and of course, my fave brow pencil. Yep, it's HG status and the only one that I use. To make these every day products more accessible, I store them in a handy basket in the bathroom. Whenever I do my makeup, I just simply remove the basket from a cupboard and place on the bench. The only product that doesn't fit is the 88 palette that I am panning. I just have that palette stored upright beside the basket. Too easy! My everyday products consist of Garnier BB cream L'Oreal Infallible Matte foundation W7 Catwalk Concealer Models Prefer Argan Infusion Concealer Silk Naturals Blur Powder ...

Come Play With Me- "A Few of My Favourite Things"

Image
As the title suggests, this is all my favourite things. I'm concentrating on makeup here, otherwise this would take a loooong time. Although, I have many products I adore, I just wanted to create one makeup look. This was not an easy thing to do! I'll list all the makeup products that I used to create this look. As some products are in my daily rotation, I don't class all the items used as favourites. I'll give just a brief rundown of each, with included links to reviewed products. Face: Dermalogica Primer- One of the best primers I've used. Garnier BB Cream for oily/combination skin - HG BB cream, the only one I have bought a back-up for. Silk Naturals HD Peach Concealer - Fantastic at colour correcting my under-eye circles. Dr LeWinn's Antiaging Concealer Mirenesse BB Pore Powder - Perfect for setting my makeup, whilst providing a flattering blurred finish, pity about the smell. Mirenesse Marbled Blush in Carar...

July Favourites

Along with my beauty favourites, I thought I'd share with you some other things I love also. Beauty first, of course! :) Just 5 products to show you. ColourPop Lippie Stix in Lumiere What a popular brand ColourPop has become. I couldn't let the hype go by without trying some products for myself. Because I have been trying a lot of lipsticks on for blog purposes, I only had the chance to try "Lumiere" once. I fell in love with this mauve brown shade instantly. Stay tuned for a review of ColourPop in the near future, which of course will include swatches.   Silk Naturals HD Peach Concealer This concealer has been helping reduce the look of my dark under eye circles. The peach really works to neutralize the darkness. Being a colour corrector, I wear this under foundation. I still use a concealer on top of my foundation, but it's more to highlight the area under my eyes,   L'Oreal Delicioux Blush in "Golden Apricot...

Lipstick Love- L'oreal Infallible Longwear Lipstick in "Invincible Sable"

Image
Another lipstick that was included in Christina's ( Lovethatlippie ) giveaway. The Infallible lip range from L'Oreal are long wearing lipsticks. These are dual ended. Liquid colour at one end and a handy gloss at the other. Great for dry lip days when you need that extra moisterisation, or you want a colour to stay put, but want a gloss finish. I like the clear lipstick end where you can easily see the colour. A doe foot applicator, a great tool for liquid lipsticks. "Sable" is a lovely neutral shade. I love the packaging. Being double ended makes the lip product convenient, less storage space needed and no searching for the balm. Application with the doe foot wand is how I prefer to apply a liquid lip product. It is easier to control, whilst allowing a more precise finish. As with most long wearing lipsticks, the colour can be drying, however a slick of balm solves that problem without effecting the lipstick in any way, no causin...
