Nail Polish Declutter Update #15

Today I will be showing you what nail polishes I am decluttering in this update.

I'm not sure what this cute little guy's name is, but I have to keep this polish. Luckily, it is a gorgeous flakie holo.

Boom Box Black

I'm going to keep this polish for now. I like the combo of the suspended black and yellow pieces. If I don't reach for it after the declutter, I will part with it.

Shade #70

I kind of like the gold and coloured glitter, but "kind of" just can't cut it when I'm trying to reduce my stash. Decluttering.

I Love You

I love the colour and the glitter is so pretty, it can easily be worn on its own without the need of a base colour. I am going to keep it.

Shade # 78

Dark purple and glitter would normally be something I need in my life when it comes to nail polish, but I don't know what it is with this one, but I don't feel the need to keep it.

This satin finish polish is in a purple shade that I really like, so this one will be staying in my stash.

This nail polish is a little sheer and I really didn't need another orange shade. But, then I saw this shade in better light and I quickly decided that I needed this polish.

So far with the 5 polishes I am keeping in this update, I have a stash of 81.

Revolution Makeup Red Velvet Palette

Along with the Peanut Butter Cup palette, I also received the Red Velvet eye shadow palette in the Revolution I Heart Chocolate Christmas pack.

I love the white over red melting chocolate palette.

The palette has a selection of reds, pinks and neutrals. I'll show you some swatches.

Typical of the Revolution formula, the mattes are a little powdery, but blend well. The shimmers are pigmented and work best over an eye shadow base. I did like the shades, but I wasn't as inspired as I expected when I started creating eye looks. This is not a reflection on the palette at all, I think I overdid it with warm shades when they became a huge trend.

Here's the 3 looks that I created.

I could certainly live without this eye shadow palette, but am happy to have it in my collection.

Lipstick Declutter Update #14

I'm glad that I am still enjoying trying each lipstick from my collection to test and see what I want to keep and what I want to declutter.

I am not sure what the shade name of this lipstick is, but it is many years old. so I've decided to declutter it.

ColourPop Lippie Stix in I Heart This

I adore this formula and the colour, so it will be staying in my stash.

BH Cosmetics Color Lock in Adore Me

As much as I like this lipstick it is very old and has to go.

MAC Mind Control

I can't believe I am decluttering a MAC lipstick, but I just know that I won't wear a glossy red lipstick.

Lime Crime Dream Girl

I love Lime Crime liquid lipsticks and I am going to definitely keep this shade.

Maybelline Color Drama Lip Pencil

I really like this red, but I just found it a bit messy to wear, so will be saying goodbye.

NYX Liquid Suede in Respect The Pink

Well, I'm afraid that I will not be respecting this pink, because I am getting rid of it. The shade is just not a colour I will reach for.

Give Me Glow Liquid Lipstick in Girl Power

I love the formula of this liquid lipstick and although the colour is not unique to my collection, I am going to hold onto it for now.

I'm only keeping 3 of the 8 lipsticks in this update, so there are now 71 lipsticks in my collection.

Evening Skincare Routine

Recently I posted my morning skincare routine, if you haven't read it, you can find it here. So, it's only fitting that I show you what products I am currently using at night.

There are a couple of products that I use from my morning routine, but most are different.

Simple Cleansing Oil- This is my first cleanse if I'm wearing makeup, this budget friendly oil cleanser is a staple for me because it does such a great job at dissolving makeup.

Moreish Cream Cleanser- My go-to second cleanser, or first if I haven't worn makeup. Gentle and hydrating, yet cleanses my skin.

The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA- I am currently using the Lactic Acid to try a different acid after finishing my Glycolic Toner. I am really enjoying it, the serum is helping to smooth my skin as it gently exfoliates. I haven't had any adverse reactions using this active.

The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane- I decided to give the retinoid a try before using a stronger retinol version. I've had no reactions to the retinoid, so am looking forward to trying something a little stronger. I am not sure that the retinoid is doing much for the appearance of my skin, but I am finding that my skin likes the hydration of squalane oil.

John Plunkett Collagen Eye Lift- I use this eye cream in the morning also. As I stated in that post, this is not a favourite, but I'm happy to finish it.

Ciencia8 LipCorrect8- Also a product that is part of my morning skincare routine. I apply this serum around my lips and I am seeing a slight reduction in those barcode lines on my upper lip.

Rosewater- Before I apply facial oil and moisturiser, I like to give my skin a spritz of rosewater. It not only adds hydration, but I enjoy the smell, too. I've decanted into this spray bottle from a large 1 L bottle.

Meadowfoam Seed and Carrot Seed Oil- Also not in an original bottle is this mix of meadowfoam and carrot seed oil. I like to mix into a night cream to finish my routine with a hit of intense hydration.

Swisse Hibiscus Anti-Aging Night Cream- This is a rich moisturiser that does a good job of locking in hydration and mixed with an facial oil finishes my evening skincare routine nicely. I just wish it wasn't packaged in a jar.

February Empties

I really thought I would have finished more products in February, but I have some skincare items that seem never ending, sigh.

A couple of faves in my empties post this month.

Sukin Natural Deodorant- This is the first natural deodorant that I have used. I found that it gave me decent protection and I liked the neutral, fresh scent.
Repurchase? I am using a different one at the moment, but would consider buying this Sukin one again when I am in need.

Mad For Keratin Hair Treatment- My daughter passed this treatment on to me because she doesn't use a hair mask. I only wash my hair once a week, so used this hair mask in place of a conditioner.
Repurchase? No, I wouldn't. I didn't dislike it, but for me it was no different to using a regular conditioner.

Swisse Hibiscus Anti-Aging Night Cream- This is a jar of rich moisturiser, which is the kind of night cream that I look for. It is budget friendly and does a decent job of hydrating my skin.
Repurchase? I am conflicted when it comes to Swisse skincare because I want to love it, but there's only a couple of items that I really like. If on sale, I would buy again, but I wasn't impressed enough to need this cream in my life.

Dove Silky Nourishing Body Cream- This body moisturiser is very hydrating, yet not too heavy on the skin. I use it at night after my shower and I love the light, fresh scent.
Repurchase? Yes, for sure!

Skin79 Water Wrapping Sunscreen- This sunscreen is my favourite physical sunscreen. It is not heavy or greasy at all.
Repurchase? I have 2 others. I would continue buying, but I had an intolerance test done recently and results show that I have high levels of zinc, which of course is a main ingredient in sunscreen. So, I'm not quite sure what will be my next sunscreen.

Along with the nail polishes and the lipstick I am decluttering is the Veil Concealer that I was given to by a friend. It was way too light for me, plus applied patchy, so I wouldn't seek out a colour that suited me.

And that's my empties for another month!

Breeze Balm

When the team at Breeze Balm generously offered me to try their product, I was quick to say yes. I mean, who doesn't love lip balm? In fact, my dry lips need it.

The founder of Breeze Balm, Sammy Leo, not only wanted to sell a lip balm that had been a formulation created by her pharmacist Grandfather in the 1950s, much loved by locals and families and friends of the Leo family. She also wanted to create a brand that made customers smile, the main attribute of beauty just being yourself. More info can be found here.

The balm comes in a squeeze tube with 15g of product. It has a lipstick shaped applicator that you can press to the lips as the tube is squeezed to dispense product on directly.

The balm is has a creamy consistency, like a whipped balm.

There are 7 flavour choices available and I settled on Candy Kiss, I couldn't resist the thought of having the taste of candy on my lips!  It tastes and smells as good as it sounds!

When I first applied the balm, it smoothed nicely on my lips and felt light, not sticky or tacky at all. I was concerned that the formula was too light to provide enough moisture for my chapped lips. There was no reason for concern, however because the balm drenches my lips, providing adequate moisture whilst soothing.

Not only was the hydration a very welcome result, but the effect surprisingly lasted for hours, even after the lip balm had disappeared. Normally once a lip balm wears off, I have to quickly reach for another application, repeating several times a day. Not even half the amount of reapplications with Breeze Balm. This has quickly become my favourite lip balm, a definite win for me!
