August Empties

Image
Start of a new month, time to show you what I used up during the one just gone, August. As you can see, not a great deal... Katy Perry "Meow" - I'm not upset to see this alien cat go. It was a nice perfume, but I didn't love it. Repurchase? No, I'm glad to not have this cat stare at me from my dresser. Skinn Eye Mask - The under eye area is so delicate, it's nice to be able to treat, nourish and hydrate the area. This mask did all that while providing a lovely soothing cooling effect. Repurchase? I already have a back-up. Lumiere "Wild Rose" Blush- This sample baggie of blush lasted for many uses. Being a dusty pink colour, I found that it gave a lovely rosy flush to my cheeks. Repurchase? Lumiere no longer operates, however as nice as the blush was, it's not a unique colour. I know I'd have one similar in my collection. Thierry Mugler "Angel Innocent"- I really like the original "Angel", as t...

A Focus on Lumiere Foundations

Image
I've been a fan of mineral powder foundations for some time. My introduction to mineral make up was Everyday Minerals. I liked it to the point that I bought so much product that I'm only just getting to my last supply. I thought it was time to begin trialling from other mineral make up companies. I was so impressed with Lumiere's luxurious eye shadows, that I decided to make a purchase to include a "Try Me! Sample Baggie Kit"   In this sample kit you receive 8 baggies, with the choice of foundation finish, colour and the chance to try blushes as well. There are many foundation colours available. There's even an option for an untinted base, so that you can add to your foundation to lighten it. If you still haven't found your match and feel that you are between 2 colours, custom mixes are also available So, all skin tones are catered for. Four finishes are available: Veena Velvet- A buildable coverage from light/medium to heavy, that is for normal to ...

FOTN

I love an excuse to do a full face of makeup, taking my time to apply (or play, lol), so when invited out for dinner for a friend's birthday, it was the perfect excuse. I don't get out much these days, lol. The products that I used for my face were: I really like Skin79 BB Cream, there are many options, but to be honest after trying this, the pink and orange version, I don't see a difference in either. In saying that, I like the coverage and finish of this BB cream. It is fine on its own in winter, but in the warmer months it is way too light for my skin colour. What I really like to use it for in summer, is a primer. I find using this product as a primer, means I don't need to conceal, well apart from under my eyes. It gives me a great base for foundation. I often use a powder mineral makeup foundation. I used a mix of Everyday Minerals Intensive tan and Sunlight Kaolin finishing powder to lighten to suit my skintone. I am actually trying to use up my ED...

Lumiere Cosmetics

Image
After hearing many good things about indie mineral makeup brand,  Lumiere Cosmetics , I thought it was about time that I tried for myself. A sale certainly sweetened the deal :) Along with the classy name, the site and products have a classy look. There are many products on offer, covering most makeup and skincare needs. The website is easy to navigate, and in no time I had a couple of things on their way to me. My order came in a reasonable amount of time, packed well. As you can see, I didn't place a huge order, I just wanted to try a couple of things. I love that you can order mini tubes of lip gloss. I have so many lip colours that I've bought full sizes of that I won't use, so it's great to try something a bit smaller before committing to a bigger size. As for the eye shadows, I bought minis, which is the average size of most full sized mineral makeup eye shadow jars. There is a larger option available. FOLIAGE - Tarnished green/gold. PEPPERMINT PATT...
