SOTD-FCUK Summer

Image
Ever since I have dabbled in store bought perfumes, I've been building my collection with affordable perfumes. Generally buying from Chemist Warehouse and Priceline. Please don't judge me!  Speaking of affordable, for review today, I have FCUK Summer. After having a FCUK sample that was unlabelled, I started buying a few fragrances from this brand. Thankfully, I paid only around $15 for each. I finally did find it, but it wasn't this one, that will be for a future review. What I am relieved about is that I really like the 4 FCUK perfumes that I own. Summer is described as- " FCUK Summer Her  by  FCUK  is a Floral Fruity fragrance for women.  FCUK Summer Her  was launched in 2011. Top notes are red apple and mango; middle notes are freesia, magnolia and mimose; base notes are musk, patchouli and amber. " Summer is the perfect name for this perfume. Just like the bottle, this perfume represents bright yellow, red and orange. Fruity, effervescent and ...

Water Colour Nails

Image
A couple of nail looks that I had never tried before was attempting a reverse stamping design and water colour nail design. Reverse stamping is a technique where to complete, I used a ziplock bag to paint a nail sized square of clear polish. Once dry, you stamp the nail design you wish to use, then place on the nail like a decal, I placed it on a wet coat of clear top coat. Sounds easy enough, right? Yes, well as you'll be able to see, I didn't quite get the finish that I wanted. The water colour design, however, I was content with. Once a base colour is dry, you dot on various nail colours, working quickly on one nail at a time. I used the ziplock bag again to flatten the dots of colour. Simple, and so many variations can be experimented with. Because I wanted to use bright polishes, I used a white base, Maybelline Color Show Porcelain Party. The dots of colour  came from Models Inc Fluro Pink, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Blizzard Blue and Ulta3 Mojito. For the stamping, I...

Small MUA Haul

Image
Hmmmm, how can I explain this MUA haul...I'd like to make it clear that it was a very SMALL haul, purchased during a free worldwide shipping offer. Included are some products from the luxe collection that I'd been lusting after for a while. Actually I wanted these at the time that I was buying birthday/christmas gifts for myself, sooo maybe a late gift for myself??? ;) I have been wanting to add some more matte lipsticks to my collection, so my purchase included Velvet Lip Lacquers and Matte Lipsticks. The glitter palettes intrigued me, so a couple of those finished my order. Matte Lipsticks (L-R) Scarlett Siren , Peachy Keen , Pouty Pink . Velvet Lip Lacquers in Funk , Reckless , Atomic . Burlesque Glitter Palette Twilight Glitter Palette Please excuse the melting face, it was just so hot! I absolutely love the matte lipstick formula. Although it has a matte finish, it is one of the most moisturising formulas that I have used on my lips. It ...

I love sparkle (really? you ask, lol) and, referring to nails, the colour red. Do you also? Well check out this LA Girls 3D Effects polish. This is in the shade called Sparkle Ruby. I love Holographic nail polish. You get the gorgeous sparkle, without it being crazy difficult to remove. Isn't she pretty?? :)

Perfume Collection

Image
I have plans of writing up some SOTD posts (scent of the day). Before I started doing this, I thought that I would show you my perfume collection first. This is my collection of indie perfume oils and a couple of solid perfumes, too. I store them in this jewelry holder, which hangs in my wardrobe. Now I know that this isn't an enviable collection of perfumes, but I've wanted to add to my bottled perfumes, without paying a fortune. I've succeeded in not spending a fortune, and for the time being, have enough bottles. I will begin replacing with perfumes that I class as my must-haves, which seem to keep adding to my mental wishlist!

Simple NOTD Sunday

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of blue nail polishes. I love variations of blue, as in teal, aqua, etc, I even like a dark, dark, navy, but only because it is close to black. Unsurprisingly, blue does not take up much room in my nail polish collection, however, any excuse to purchase nail polish is a good one, so it was necessary to buy some of this shade. Hey, I'm good at justifying a beauty purchase!  As I had mentioned in my previous Sunday NOTD post, I had made quite a large nail polish order with Ozsale buying from the Layla range. I'm not completely sold on this shade 29, but the colour is growing on me. I love the subtle silver shimmer of this Ceramic Effect polish. The name of the finish is so fitting, it really dries to a ceramic look. Are you a fan of blue?
