Lipstick Declutter Intro

Image
I try and sort through my lipsticks yearly, so decided that this time around I would blog about it in the same format as my nail polish declutter. I will try each lipstick on that I own and decide whether or not I want to keep it. Why not share the experience with you, too! So if you're interested, keep reading. Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick in Touch of Spice Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick in Lust for Blush Boe Professional Colour Last Lipstick (label missing) Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick in Daringly Nude  Burt's Bees Lipstick in Blush Basin Freedom Lipstick in Natural Beauty I love the Maybelline Creamy Mattes, so will be keeping the 3 of them. I will also be keeping the Burt's Bees and Freedom lipsticks, both are nice nudes with a creamy formula. I will be decluttering the Boe Professional lipstick, it's a nice shade, I just find the formula slips and slides on my ...

The Jojoba Company Natural Pigmentation Oil

Image
Being someone that has a lot of pigmentation thanks to self-induced sun exposure when I was younger (Oh, what I would tell my younger self!) The Jojoba Company Pigmentation Oil was quickly placed in my basket when I was shopping a skincare sale in Priceline. Taken from The Jojoba Company - "Our all natural formula gently targets uneven skin tone, pigmentation and age spots. Skin is noticeably more even, with tests showing a 25% reduction of age spots in 6 weeks. Deeply moisturising it contains no harsh chemicals.." The oil is packaged in a striking metallic orange bottle, it is gorgeous to look at. It comes complete with a dropper dispenser which is popular with facial oil. The oil is a golden colour and has a typical oily consistency. It has a pleasant, natural scent. I use the pigmentation oil morning and night. As expected it does take time to absorb. I actually only use 4 drops for face and neck in the morning, but because I have more time to wait betwe...

Gemma Vendetta Cosmetics Lipstick in De Havilland

Image
It's no surprise that I love indie products, but I get even more excited when it's an Australian owned indie brand. Enter Gemma Vendetta Cosmetics. I had not even been aware of this brand until I was so fortunate that a lovely friend tagged me on an Instagram giveaway that she won, which meant I did, too! We were able to choose a lipstick of choice. More about the vegan, cruelty-free brand can be found here . The lipstick I chose is De Havilland . Described as a must-have vintage red. I must say that I have to agree. Any red lipstick lovers would adore this shade. These lipsticks have a semi-matte finish. This one is very pigmented. I find that although it is a matte, the lipstick is creamy enough to make application easy. What I love about these matte lipsticks are just how comfortable they are. It does not dry out my lips and although there is some transfer, it is very long lasting. De Havilland has quickly become my favourite bullet lipstick, amazing f...

Pan That Palette 2017 Finale

Image
I began the Pan That Palette project back in February of last year, but I had actually been working on the palette in the February before in 2016. I started by posting updates on Instagram. Back then I had already finished 8 pans. Here's how the palette looked by the time I started the project on my blog. I had 49 pans to finish, having hit pan on 8. My goal at the beginning was not to finish all the shadows, just the ones that I deemed usable and suitable for my needs. As the project progressed, I was more and more wanting the satisfaction of finishing the palette completely. Did I accomplish this? Well, keep on reading to find out :) I was actually surprised with how long I was able to use it without getting discouraged. Though, in the beginning I would review the odd palette that I had bought, so I would change up the lid colours from time to time, but would still get some use out of the shadows, whether it be using one for a blush or even a bronzer. It was only the...

December 2017 Empties

Image
As we are saying hello to 2018, I will go back in time and show you my December 2017 beauty finished products. I thought I may have had a few more items to show you, but December wasn't huge when it came to finishing products. I am now close to finishing a few products, so I'm sure January will prove to be one that I have more empties to show. Anyway, let's get to the items I did finish. I really did plan on treating my face with sheet masks this past month, but for some reason I just kept forgetting. Anyway, I did use the Skin Republic Hyaluronic Acid and Collagen and Detox Charcoal sheet masks. Repurchase? I did like them, but so far my favourite from the Skin Republic line is the Bubble Mask. Not just because it's fun, but I was impressed with the results. These ones, however, didn't wow me enough to buy again. Skinn DermAppeal- I finished yet another of these exfoliators. They are fairly coarse so are almost like a microdermabrasion you can do ...

Project Pan 2017 Finale

Image
Well, now that another year is done and dusted, it's time I showed you how I finished up with my attempt at a rolling 5 pan project. It's weird to think that I have been doing this project for a year, replacing a product as I finished it. I must say, that apart from the lipstick and lip gloss, I was pretty easy on myself by choosing products that I knew wouldn't be too hard to use until they were finished. Swisse Natural Defence BB Cream - This BB Cream gives a sheer coverage like that of a tinted moisturiser, but it's enough to even out my skintone. I used it every day (apart from weekends) since I added it to the project and finished it (was 1/2 full).  I've got probably half of the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze left. I'm not sad that I didn't finish it and will happily continue to use this cream eye shadow. I love it. I am so happy that this NYX lip gloss is finished. I was able to prove to myself that I cou...

Beauty Favourites of 2017

Image
The reason I didn't write a monthly Beauty Favourites post in 2017 was because I spent much of it trying to finish set products in my project pans. I see the value in panning, but it meant that I didn't try many new products. I do have a handful of faves that although not new in 2017 were new to me, so I thought I would rave about them to you. Skin79 Water Wrapping Sunscreen - This is the best physical sunscreen I have used, ever . It is so easy to apply. There is no greasiness and no white cast, once absorbed, my skin is dry to the touch. I love that it's not thick and doesn't feel like I'm wearing a mask, yet it is hydrating. It's amazing, unfortunately it can be difficult to find. Australis Fresh and Flawless Powder- I am always late to the party, but last year (that is so weird to say!) I fell in love with this powder. It is so soft and creamy. Gives me that airbrushed look without being cakey. This finishing powder sets my foundation and ...
