Rimmel Lasting Finish 25H Foundation

Image
I feel so behind the 8 ball when it comes to foundations. I was determined not to buy any until I needed a replacement no matter how many rave reviews of foundations I had read. When finally I did need foundation, I bought a few, the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25H Foundation With Comfort Serum (try saying that 10 times fast!) being one of them.   From Rimmel London (Aus)- "Instant perfect coverage that feels extra comfortable and lasts all day. Blends flawlessly, seamlessly, instantly and easily into the skin. Sweat, heat, humidity and transfer proof for up to 25 hours." The bottle is packaged in a 30 ml glass bottle with red lid and red accents on the label. I'm not a huge fan of the colour red, but actually like the look of this bottle. Lifting off the lid reveals a handy pump-top dispenser. The consistency of the foundation is creamy but I would still class it is a fluid. I always wear a separate SPF, but thought it was worth noting that this f...

Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup Bronzer and Highlighter Duos

Image
The Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup palettes are so eye catching with their melting chocolate bar design. I need to have all of them! Up until recently, they had just been releasing eye shadow palettes. I was pretty excited when bronzer and highlight duos were available. Of course, I needed both! I Heart Makeup Bronze and Glow is a bronzer and highlight duo. That packaging, tho? Can we please take a moment to take in that gold over dark brown??? I love that textured drippy design in the product. Now that I've raved about the packaging and look of the product, it might be time to talk about the actual powders. The bronzer is on the lighter side and is shimmery, which I'm generally not a fan of. I much prefer a matte bronzer. Fortunately it doesn't really translate on the face once applied. It did give me a hint of depth, but it would be better suited to me in the cooler months when I'm less tan. The highlighter is a light golden shade, it provide...

CK Eternity

Image
Last year as a gift, my daughter gave me a set of Calvin Klein mini perfumes. I just love minis, they are way too cute! Today I will be reviewing Eternity from the set. Taken from Fragrantica- "The composition opens with fresh citrus and green notes, that is followed by the note of violet and lily-of-the-valley. The note of carnation with its spiciness gives the floral heart slightly peppery accord. The final notes are gentle with powdery heliotrope, pink sandalwood and transparent musky notes." Eternity begins with a blast of green notes. I will generally shy away from green florals, but this perfume is more fresh green rather than a piercing green.  It has a slight spiciness which makes the fragrance become slightly soapy, but in a good way.  After wear, the florals take on a creamier quality blending well with the slight tangy citrus note and musk.  Eternity is a simple to wear perfume. Fresh and feminine and lasts well, getting better and better t...

BH Cosmetics 28 Color Neutral Eyeshadow Palette

Image
I know I really didn't need a matte eye shadow palette, but looking at all the lovely neutrals in the BH Cosmetics 28 Color Neutral Eyeshadow Palette, I just couldn't resist. Taken from BH Cosmetics - "Featuring a chorus of flattering neutral hues, the Neutral Eyes- 28 Color Eyeshadow Palette lets you create a perfectly sculpted natural look. The colors are so versatile, many even double as subtle blushes." The palette has a clear plastic lid which I really like because I can see the shadows without needing to open first. So many neutrals to choose from, I love that they range from cool to warm, so any look you want to create is covered. The shadows are a little powdery causing kick up when dipping a brush in the pan. I'm totally ok with that when they are as nice to use as these mattes are. A good matte to me is one that has decent pigmentation, yet blends well. These tick both. Want to see some swatches? I'm not one ...

Project Pan 2017 Update #1

Image
Because I am currently trying to finish a palette in my Pan That Palette project, I will post updates of this Project Pan bi-monthly. You can check out my Intro here . So for my first update I will show you how my progress is going. I will begin with the photo of the products from intro then proceed with the photo of current state of product. This Mirenesse lipstick is done... finally !! It was a decent neutral, creamy lipstick. I only had the smallest amount left to finish and boy it feels good to be done! To replace the Mirenesse lipstick, I chose Drama Queen a pink lipstick sample I ordered from MBA Cosmetics. I have a few samples and because they are natural based, I need to use them before they go bad.                                       Progress on ColourPop eye shadow Cornelius looks minimal, but within the time of using since the intro, I scr...

The Ordinary Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10%

Image
The Ordinary is a brand that I was very interested in trying. I've heard so many things, some good, some not so good. I figured at the affordable price point I could at least buy one product.  I needed a Vitamin C serum and out of the 4 available I narrowed it down to the Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10%. This appeared to be the one that would suit my needs. Taken from The Ordinary - "A brightening hydrator with stabilized vitamin C derivative." There is a lot more info, so click the link if you want to know more. The serum is packaged in a 30 ml squeeze tube with screw-top lid. The serum is more like a light lotion in texture and consistency.  It has a light non-descript scent, I appreciate that there's no synthetic fragrance.  I apply the serum after toning, morning and night. It is easy to apply and I find I only need a small amount for face and neck. The product absorbs fairly quickly into the skin.  There's no residue, but my skin ...

MBA Cosmetics Pressed Glitters

Image
I love me some shimmer and glitter, but what can put me off with glitter is just how messy it can get. I have tried glitter creams in the past. Application is less messy but I found that I had problems with creasing throughout wear which is not pretty! I put my bad experiences aside and took a chance on the MBA Cosmetics Pressed Glitters . Instead of being in a cream base, the glitter is pressed with binders which does give them a creamy feel. Similar in texture to ColourPop eye shadows if you are familiar with them. There are so many shades to choose from, but I wanted to limit my order just in case I was not a fan. You can choose to buy the pressed glitters in a compact or like I did where the pans come in a cardboard case so you can place them in a palette. Look at all that sparkly goodness! I was certainly hoping for a better outcome than I got with the MBA Cosmetics Metallic Matte Lipsticks . If you didn't read my review on those, I was not a fan at all! ...
