Low-Buy

I need to face the fact that I am no good at sticking with a no-buy, but with so many products in my collection, I need to do something to reign in my shopping. I thought that maybe I could try a "low-buy". Skin, hair and body products I don't usually go crazy, so they're safe. Makeup, nail polish and perfume, on the other hand are products that I find hard to resist, especially when on sale! I'm not sure how I'll go with this, but perfume and nail polish buying is out, UNLESS there's a too-good-to-miss sale. Now, I don't mean any old sale. but it has to be an almost once in a lifetime kind of sale.
When it comes to makeup, I've decided that there's certain categories that only really require a product that I'm currently using and 2 back-ups.

I haven't gone crazy with primers, but I really need to start using them. I believe that a primer is a must, but I generally use a BB cream underneath my foundation.

I love BB creams. I have been quite restrained, knowing that I don't need an abundance of them. There's quite a few that I want to try, but not until I've finished 7. Luckily, I have 4 travel sizes that shouldn't take too long to use up.

I need to start using concealers again. Since using BB cream as a primer, I find that I don't feel the need to use a concealer.  (Sorry for the poor pic, :/)

I've been wearing foundation 3 days a week to try and get through product. It's working, I have gone through my indie mineral powder foundations, and so I have 4 foundations to use up before buying more.  To be honest, I'd prefer to wear a decent BB cream than a foundation, but I do like them for night time wear. Not that I go out much, but it's good to have a foundation handy.

Face powders are a product that I've only started to appreciate in the last couple of years. Although, I still have days that I forget to apply, oops! I have a feeling that these will last some time. Which is ok, I don't generally get impulses to buy face powder. To be honest, I haven't put any thought into what I'd even want to buy next.

As you can see, illuminizers are not a product that I feel the need to have a lot of. To be honest, I rarely use them, and could live without buying another, I probably will eventually, tho, lol.

I don't have a pic for bronzer, it's actually a product I don't have any of. I've never got the hang of using one, and really don't miss owning one.

These are some of the eye primers that I need to get through. A few of them are just colour bases. To be honest, I'd be happy to stick with Silk Naturals Stick 'Em Eye Primer. It's like a glue for the loose minerals to adhere to :)

As I haven't purchased a mascara for quite some time, my collection has been diminishing, slowly. I now have 8 mascaras to finish before buying another.

My biggest weaknesses are eye shadows, glosses, lipsticks and blushes. My only stipulation to myself in the case of glosses, lipsticks and blushes, is that they MUST fit into allocated storage. None of them do.

These are my blushes. I went through a buying frenzy last year, and have more than enough. I want to work towards only having enough to fill the bottom of the drawer. I do also have others that needed alternative storage. I hope no blushes call out to me to buy in the near future!

I've had to resort to a cardboard box for storage of loose minerals. This box is 5 shadows deep, oops!

I think the amount of lipstick and glosses pictured here would be a sufficient amount.

BUT, my "temporary" makeup bag storing lip products is bursting at the seams.

These are my eye liners. I actually haven't added any for some time, still a while before I buy another black.

I am going to leave shadows for another post, let's just say that they require it! LOL.

    1. Thank you, hun. My plan is to do the same as you. I'm getting to the point where I figure that I'd prefer to actually use what I have, rather than continuing to add more makeup.

    1. Thanks lovely. I do love glosses, but my biggest obsession is eye shadows. Unfortunately I have bought way more than I can wear, lol

  3. You know.. Sometimes I look at my freelancing kit and my personal makeup and think 'I have a major fucking problem', then I see things like this and go 'nope, I'm doing ok'. I have to say you're beating me with lips and shadows but I'm drowning if base products so it probably evens out. I loved having a squiz at all your makeup, posts like these are fun, thanks so much for posting!

    1. Lol, well I know that you have quite the stash, lovely. You are right, no-buys just don't work for me, but cutting back is something that I hope I can handle. Now that I have set goals, it gives me something to work towards :)
