Mirenesse Secret Weapon 24Hr Super Long Mascara

I'm pretty I sure I received the Mirenesse Super Long Mascara as part of a VIP pack when I was a member. Being a fan of the formula, I was happy to try a Mirenesse mascara with a different brush. Would it work, or just be hype?

Taken from Mirenesse- "The holy grail of mascara formulas! No more panda eyes! A true revolutionary breakthrough, the Secret Weapon 24 Hr Mascara targets each individual lash by forming unique tubes of colour to amazingly lengthen, thicken and curl your lashes! The exclusive microwrap polymer formulation allows you to build the most breathtaking, beautiful lashes you long for."

Typical Mirenesse mascara style of packaging. I love the classy look.

The brush tapers down to a pointy end.

I was looking forward to trying this brush. I thought that with the smaller end I would be able to get right into those tiny corner lashes. This is the case, however, I have been experiencing a problem. I still have to take care, because with the end of the brush being smaller, excess product just gets scraped to the end, rather than being scraped off at the mouth of the mascara tube. So, I end up with too much product on the brush. I dab on a baby wipe, but can't really remove the majority, because I will end up with fluff on the brush.

As expected, the formula hasn't changed, which isn't a bad thing. It doesn't dramatically change my lashes, but does provide some of both volumising and lengthening.

What I have always liked about the Mirenesse mascara is the tubing formula. It does not smudge and only comes off when removed. This is an easy process. The mascara comes off with warm water, coming off the lashes in small rubbery balls. I believe it would be a lot less damaging on the lashes.

Before and after with 2 coats of mascara.

Although there is an obvious difference in my lashes with this mascara, I wish the brush did more to separate them.

I can't go as far as saying that I am impressed with the Mirenesse Secret Weapon 24Hr Super Long Mascara, but it is decent enough for me to continue use.

What mascara are you loving at the moment?

  1. That mascara does work quite well on your lashes! But I do agree that more separation would be better.

    1. Thank you, Lily! I've been using castor oil on my lashes, which I think is really helping xx

  3. I used one of the Mirenesse Secret Weapon mascaras before - not sure if it was the Super Long or the volume one, but either way I wasn't impressed with it. I too didn't get great separation from it from memory & (previous) claims about it being tear-proof were debunked when I cried an entire eye's worth of mascara off my eyelashes at a funeral. Quite disappointing. I use Eye of Horus' mascara now and really like it.

    1. I don't need a mascara, but after your recommendation of EoH, I'll definitely keep it in mind when I do xx
