Come Play With Me- Wing It Out

Image
Monni chose this Come Play With Me theme, "Wing It Out", showing us a wearable winged eye. Doing this challenge was a great excuse for me to go all out with creating a winged eye, something I'm not really comfortable doing but enjoyed attempting.   I began with some neutrals as a base on my lid. I then used Mirenesse Superlong Wear Gel in Black and slowly slowly lined my upper and lower lashline, tracing the eyes then carrying out towards the end of my brows. Once I had this as a base, I then followed the liner with Mirenesse Inside Out 27Hr Eye Kohl in "Cleo", I just love this flattering, metallic colour. The master of winged liner, Monique totally nailed this theme (no surprise there!) I love Kat's  sexy cat's eye. Hailey  artistic winged eye needs to be seen! I love looking at various winged eye looks, so please, show me yours :)

SOTD- "Kim Kardashian"

Image
I just don't understand the whole KK appeal, I just find the publicity circus uninspiring. In saying that, this girl has put her name to some lovely perfumes, yes I have more than one, I own full sizes of Honey and True Reflection. The namesake perfume Kim Kardashian is described as " a fragrance constructed of luminous, sweet opening notes, intoxicating floral middle notes, and sensual, sexy aromas in a base. An opening includes refreshing notes of mandarin surrounded with floral-lemon honeysuckle and orange blossom, while a heart blooms, pink jasmine, tuberose, gardenia and spices. A base is created of warm, gentle tonka, jacaranda wood, vanilla orchid, sexy musk and creamy sandalwood." This perfume had me at gardenia and tuberose. I don't get a lot of the huge list of notes mentioned, but creamy, sweet, zesty white florals, yes! It is alluring and intoxicating, without being too strong and nausea inducing. It's one of those perfumes that when you think yo...

To Repurchase Or Not To Repurchase- Mirenesse Youth Switch Eye Serum

Image
I can't say that I was wowed by Mirenesse Youth Switch Face Serum , but having been also sent the eye serum in my Mirenesse VIP parcel, I was still going to give it a chance. This serum for the eyes contains many ingredients known for their combined ability to combat the signs of ageing, targeting tired, dehydrated looking eyes. Delivery of the eye cream is via a small hole at the end of a tube. Squeeze the tube a little, and enough product is dispensed for the eye area. This serum has a light cream consistency. Smooths evenly around the eye area. I can't say I can detect any strong scent. Would I repurchase? Although I was happier with this serum than the face serum, I still didn't find enough results to warrant replacing. I can find products that give similar results that aren't as costly. Don't get me wrong, it certainly was nice to use, hydrating, yet not heavy, absorbing quickly into this delicate area of the face. Using the Youth Switch Eye S...

Coral and Teal EOTD

Image
After using purple and lime on my lids, I wanted to once again to use another unusual combo. I must say that I can't recall using coral and teal together. The shadows I used for my eye look were Virus Insanity " Techno " and Evil Shades "Wanderflower" (No longer available).  To complete the look I also used the 88 Warm palette, MUA Contour Pen and L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes. Obviously this not an everyday look, but I think this colour combination can work. What's an unusual colour combination that has worked for you? I'd love some more inspiration!

Simple NOTD Sunday- Teeez Cosmetics "Melted Copper"

Image
I was so excited when I discovered that I had won a prize pack containing nail polishes. The only problem I had was trying to decide which one to apply.   Varinder's generous polish prize included Maybelline Color Show "Pinkalicious", Sally Hansen's Lustre Shine "Firefly 003", Teeez Cosmetics Holographic "Melted Copper", Colour Theory "Tangerine Dream", FOA Carnival "Masquerade", FOA Screen Siren "Some Like It Hot" and "Bombshell". The nail polish "Melted Copper" really appealed to me because I had never even heard of Teeez Cosmetics before, and well, I couldn't resist a holographic nail polish :) The photos really don't do this gorgeous polish justice.  I really wanted to swatch the other polishes, too, so out came my trusty plastic nails.

SOTD- Arcana Soaps Frilly Underpinnings

Image
Thanks to Dee for kindly sending me some Arcana samples, it has not only allowed me to try this brand, but also fill that indie perfume sampling void. They couldn't have come at a better time, because I had finished my stash of oil samples. Still determined to not buy any perfumes in the near future, it has been great to sniff some different perfumes. How cute is the design of Frilly Underpinnings label!  Described as "Pink, white and black pepper laced delicately through sweet cream, bourbon vanilla, caramel amber, 2 sugars, spice and everything nice" Sound good? Well, it smells even better. Yes, it's gourmand and sweet, but it's also grown up with the amber, bourbon vanilla and pepper spices preventing a toothache. After wear, I get a smoky, tobacco type note, which I love.  This fragrance is sexy, rich and so delectable. Yes, a full size is a must! :)
