Fun Halloween Nails

Image
Happy Halloween, or should I say BOO! Now, I know I'm Australian and Halloween is an American tradition, but I love the fun of Halloween. I don't celebrate the origins, I just get caught up with the "Trick or Treating" with the kids and it's a good excuse to create some fun looks. And this is where I tell you about my Halloween nails. To create the look on my nails, I used Maybelline Porcelain Party, China Glaze Black Mesh Crackle, Femme Fatale's Sinister Calling and Shadowsong, which is brought to life over black, becoming a gorgeous purple colour. I have not used a shatter polish for so long! To be honest, I had become quite over it, however, I really like the way it turned out for this look. To give my nails more of a Halloween feel, I added some stickers. Maybe I should include a game called "What are the stickers?" Lol, they got lost on the mani! On the index finger, the stickers are visible, that red thing is actually a spider, t

Look of the Day

Although I love to play with various eye shadows, I often concentrate on one colour for the lid and then neutrals to contour. For this look, I decided to use two noticeably different colours on my lid. Face- Dr LeWinn's Primer and Anti ageing Foundation, I love this liquid foundation. Coastal Scents Camo Quad in Medium to conceal and highlight. This beauty has 4 shades. I use the white to highlight under my brows. To conceal dark circles, I use a mixture of the darkest and medium tones. I am finding this quad to be such a multi-tasking product. I was a little intimidated with the 4 colour creams, but now I reach for it daily. L'Oreal Blush in Sandalwood Veil. This dusty pink blush seems to be my go-to-blush of late. It gives my cheeks a touch of pink. Lips- Mirenesse lip liner in Rose. Mavala Lipstick in Nagoya. A creamy formula, the only thing that I don't like is the smell. It's not overly strong, but I'm not a fan. Eyes- Evil Shades Pa

Glitter Gradient Nails

Image
I had decided that I wanted to create a glitter gradient look for my nails, I had even chosen the glitter polish that I wanted to use. What I did have trouble with was the base colour that I was going to apply. My solution? Different base colours! The hero of this mani being the glitter polish Glinting Lodestone from Aussie indie company Femme Fatale. I hope you like my gradient version, I need to try some different variations. I'm sure a warm orange/red would be interesting, what do you think?

Nail Polish Storage

Image
For a long time now, I've stored my nail polishes in a set of large plastic drawers. Apart from running out of room, I had another problem. I found that I wasn't using various polishes, because I just couldn't see them. I spent a lot of time googling different ideas. Although there's some lovely storage shelves, I didn't want to pay 100s of dollars. FINALLY, I come up with something that I am extremely happy with. Um, sorry about the wonky pic, but it really is square, lol. Now for the best part...the step shelves I bought from Kmart in the homewares department for $7 each. the metal shelf case was $15 from Bunnings. So, with a total of $46, I now have nail polish storage that I am content with :)

EOTD Featuring Virus Insanity Techno

Image
Just a quick post to showcase the lovely shadow from Virus Insanity, Techno. It is such a bright green, but with a little olive and brown contouring, I believe it is totally wearable. Not that I'm the best judge, of course. I don't just stick to day friendly neutrals, there's days that I also love to include bright colours on my lids! I think that this shadow is such a gorgeous Spring colour!

To Repurchase Or Not To Repurchase- Estee Lauder ANR Serum

Not being one in a position to use high end products on a regular basis, you can imagine how excited I was to get the opportunity to trial a product with the Estee Lauder label. Not only did I get to try the much loved Advanced Night Repair, but the new and improved version. This serum has been formulated with well-known hydration ingredient Hyaluronic Acid and exclusive ChronoluxCB technology. What does this mean for the user? Well, it is expected to provide intense hydration, an important process in the fight against signs of ageing.  If the skin is adequately hydrated lines and wrinkles become reduced and skin looks radiant. The technology helps skin when it is working its hardest, at night. In turn, the skin should reap the benefits during the day. I received the 30 ml sized square shaped amber bottle common to the Estee Lauder range. Delivery is possible through the dropper, making for a more hygienic way to apply the product.  Being a fluid consistency, only a small amount is

Dark Heart Designs

Well, I have stretched out the indie mineral make up products for review as far as I could. Being on a make up no-buy, I am about to show case the last of my to-review stash. It makes me feel a little sad, but the no-buy was necessary. It won't last forever, but I really need to shift some make up before replenishing my stock. I don't really recall how I stumbled upon the business  Dark Heart Designs , but I had fun playing with the products. Purchase is available online via Store Envy.
