Evening Skincare Routine

Image
Recently I posted my morning skincare routine, if you haven't read it, you can find it here . So, it's only fitting that I show you what products I am currently using at night.  There are a couple of products that I use from my morning routine, but most are different. Simple Cleansing Oil - This is my first cleanse if I'm wearing makeup, this budget friendly oil cleanser is a staple for me because it does such a great job at dissolving makeup. Moreish Cream Cleanser - My go-to second cleanser, or first if I haven't worn makeup. Gentle and hydrating, yet cleanses my skin. The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA- I am currently using the Lactic Acid to try a different acid after finishing my Glycolic Toner. I am really enjoying it, the serum is helping to smooth my skin as it gently exfoliates. I haven't had any adverse reactions using this active. The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane- I decided to give the retinoid a try before ...

Morning Skincare Routine 2019 #1

Image
New year, new skincare routine. To be fair, apart from a few staples, my skincare routine often changes as I want to try new products. Always searching for those holy grail products! I have 9 steps in my morning skincare routine, but it's fairly easy to maintain. Simple Micellar Facial Gel Wash- Yes, you read that right, I have switched from a creamy cleanser to a gel one, in the morning anyway. Because I am using actives in the PM, I felt that a gel cleanser would work better to rid skin of impurities. Simple Facial Toner- This toner is a staple in my routine, an easy step to make sure my skin in completely clean. CosRx Whitening Essence- Not sure that I am seeing any whitening with this essence, but it does help my serums absorb quicker. Insta Natural Pro-Radiant Skin Brightening Serum- I like to have a vitamin C serum in my routine, this one hasn't amazed me, but it's a nice product. Hydrating and absorbs very well. I am yet to see any chan...

PM Skincare Routine

Image
Last week I showed you my updated morning skincare routine , of course I wasn't going to stop at that. Today I will be showing you the products I am currently using at night, in order of use. Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm - I use this product if I am wearing makeup. It does such a fantastic job! Moreish Cream Cleanser - If I'm not wearing makeup, I begin with this cleanser, but if I have, this is the 2nd cleanse. The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution - I've found this product to be a fantastic chemical exfoliator that is gentle enough to use every night. Beauty By Nicholas Omega Hydroxy Serum - This serum would have to be my favourite of the products I have used so far from Beauty By Nicholas. It is a light weight serum that has really helped to smooth my skin texture. The Jojoba Company Cucumber and Guava Firming Eye Balm - I am not in love with this eye cream, but it's hydrating enough for me to continue using the rest. S...

AM Skincare Routine

Image
I have been meaning to blog an updated skincare routine for quite some time now. But it seems that every time I go to take photos, I realise that I am about to replace an almost finished product with something new. I often try new skincare, so it was now or never, no matter how much product I had remaining. Here's my morning routine Moreish Cream Cleanser - I adore this cleanser, it is one product that I have repurchased and have backups of. Simple Toner- As the name suggests, this is a no frills product that just tones my skin. That's all I'm asking of this product and that's why it is yet another regular addition to my skincare routine. CosRX Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence- This essence is new to me. I haven't been using it long enough to have yet formed an opinion, but I am enjoying it so far. Now Dark Spot Serum- I like to include a serum in my routine, and this one is also a fairly new addition. I have noticed a brighter complexion. ...

Current Skincare Routine 2018

Image
It's been a while since I showed you my current skincare routine. I have quite a few products waiting in the wings to be used, so I'm sure my routine will soon change. If I waited for my routine to stay the same, I would never get around to doing this post. Let's get into the products that I am using. I begin my routine in the morning with some Simple Toner on a cotton pad and massage across my face. I follow the toner with the Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner to give my skin a nice hydrating drench. I then spot treat my more lined areas with the Beauty By Nicholas No No Needles serum.  Before applying The Ordinary Buffet serum , (which I can't see leaving my routine for some time) I give my skin a spritz with rosewater. Next comes my eye cream, which I'm currently using the Dermalogica Total Eye Care. Once the eye cream absorbs, which is very quickly, I follow with a mix of the Jojoba Company Pigmentation Oil and Swisse Rosehip Facial Moisturiser....

Skincare Update

Image
This post is long overdue, I can't believe that my last update was in July! Eek, where has the year gone! Since then I have a very different routine, with new products. AM Routine- Dr LeWinns Refining Toner Spritz of Chamomile tea Palmers Rejuvinating Serum (only just started using) Onsen Truth Eye Serum and Soothing Eye Cream (loving these!) Elixia Tinted Multi-V Moisturiser with SPF (this range has now been replaced with an improved formulation) When I am not wearing foundation, I have been using Garnier BB Cream. As you can see, I know longer cleanse in the mornings. It made sense to me after reading that if you cleanse well enough at night, you shouldn't need to in the am. I do tone to rid my skin of dead skin cells. PM Routine- One Hand Washes The Other Magic Soap (so great for problematic skin) Dr LeWinns Refining Toner Palmers Rejuvinating Serum Onsen Eye Gel and Cream Avibon Vitamin A Pommade (only just started using) I have now put my Clarisonic cleansi...

To Repurchase Or Not To Repurchase- Prai Platinum Deluxe with Skincare Update

Image
Now that I have finished my Prai deluxe samples, I thought that I would not only review them, but include some pics to see if they have improved my skin in any way. Being an avid watcher of shopping channel TVSN, I am often tempted by the live demonstrations, especially those on skincare and makeup. Prai is one of the brands that I have wanted to try for some time, and when the opportunity arose for me to replace some skincare, I jumped at the chance to buy some Prai goodies. The "Try Me" kit included Oceanic Skin Firming Caviar, Firm and Contour Face Cream and Firming Eye Cream. These 3 products used together are formulated to tighten the skin, giving it a more radiant, youthful look. It was simple to include this as a night time routine. After cleansing and toning, I applied the Firming Caviar. This comes in a small cylinder bottle with pump top. The product has a light lotion consistency. It felt so luxe on the skin, absorbing rather quickly, leaving my skin soft and...

Skincare Routine

Image
I have never written a blog post dedicated to my skincare routine. I thought it was time that I did, but not just about what I'm using. I wanted to begin keeping track of what products are doing for my skin by including pictures, so that I can really see if they are of benefit. Unfortunately, this means pictures of myself sans make- up, so be WARNED, eek!! I should add that my skin is combination. I still get breakouts, but at 38, my skin is needing more hydration, especially on the areas outside my T-zone. That looks like a lot of products for a skincare routine, but I'll break it down for you.  AM:  One Hand Washes the Other Magic Soap. This soap is fabulous for acne prone skin. It cleans my skin beautifully, without stripping it. I also love the invigorating scent. I use this with the Clarisonic Mia, for a nice deep cleanse. Silk Naturals 2 % BHA Toner. I normally purchase the AHA toner, but I somehow accidentally ordered this one. I'll go back to AHA, only be...
