Shop My Stash Palette Edition- Revolution Makeup Makeup Geek Palette

Image
With so many eye shadow palettes, it's hard to choose a single eye shadow palette to play with. After a lot of rummaging, I decided to choose a palette with a lot of colours and a lot of choices and I just couldn't go past the Revolution Makeup (so weird to say it that way now that they changed it from Makeup Revolution) Makeup Geek palette. This palette contains 36 eye shadows, ranging from pinks, blues, purples, oranges, yellows and neutrals. So many options. As you can see from the swatches, some are nicely pigmented, other shades not so much. Of course I was still going to give these shadows a try. I found that over a sticky eye primer I was able to get even the least pigmented shimmers to perform. The coloured matte shades were a little chalky, so I didn't delve into those too much, but I was able to make the neutral ones work. Here are the looks I created with the Makeup Geek palette. With these looks I tried to combine more

Lipstick Declutter Update #8

Image
Time for another lipstick declutter update. It's a project that I am glad I have taken on. I have decluttered lipsticks in the past, but by arm swatches. Trying on is a much better way of deciding whether or not I want to keep them. Oh yes, it's a much lengthier process, but one I am happy to continue.                                                                               ColourPop Ultra Matte Clueless I will be getting rid of this one, the shade is nice, but I am not a fan of the formula.  ColourPop Lippie Stix in Silk Although I love the Lippie Stix formula, I am getting rid of Silk because I prefer a matte finish with such a dark colour. I can apply it more precisely and if it's a formula that doesn't budge, it won't get messy. ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Arriba Keeping this one! Although I'm not usually a fan of this formula, I really liked this lipstick and it didn't dry my lips like most

Derma E Vitamin C Renewing Moisturizer

Image
I was happy to finally get around to trying the Derma C Renewing Moisturizer. This product had been sitting in my stash waiting to be used. The cream I had been using seeming like the never ending bottle, but I remained strong and waited until I had finished every last drop before opening a new product. Ok, I'm being dramatic, but if you have a large skincare stash, you know how it feels! Taken from Priceline - "This lightweight radiance-boosting, non-oxidizing vitamin C day moisturizer supports collagen, helping to improve the appearance of uneven skintone and the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles." The cream comes in a 60 ml plastic bottle. It has sturdy packaging, looks like glass, but isn't going to break as easily if you drop it. Believe me that is a good thing for this clumsy clutz! The bottle has a  convenient pump-top dispenser. The moisturizer is a very lightweight cream. It has a pleasant fragrance, I can mainly detect the rooibos tea.

Shop My Stash Palette Edition- ColourPop You Had Me At Hello

Image
In this edition of shop my stash, I decided to give another ColourPop palette a try. I wasn't a huge fan of the first one I tried, the Dream St palette , but I was willing to play with the palette You Had Me At Hello.  The palette has a neutral vibe, but there's also a gorgeous rose gold shimmer and matte purple shade. I'll show you the swatches. I love the mix of shimmers and mattes. There's transition shades, lid shades and crease shades. The mattes blend well and the shimmers, although soft and have the potential of crumbling in the pan when dipping a brush in, are nicely pigmented. Being a busy week for me, I only had time to create 2 eye looks.     Well I must say that I am happy to have this palette in my collection!

Nail Polish Declutter Update #9

Image
Another nail polish declutter update full of glitter polishes. Wedding Crasher A pink I like, add some sparkle. Yes, I'm keeping this nail polish! Twinkle Peach Same deal as with the first nail polish, this one is staying in my stash. No label Definitely keeping the Funky Fingers polish not sure on the name, but it is a gorgeous silvery holo, I had to post a pic with the flash to show all that sparkly gorgeousness. Keeping  Sapphire Stitch This polish has pretty purple shimmer in a blackened blue base, but it's a bit thick to apply, so I will be decluttering it. This BYS purple and blue glitter polish looks lovely in the bottle, but applies really patchy so I will be decluttering this one. LA Colors polish in Sassy Sparkle This polish is loaded with tiny little holographic "crystals". This is staying in my stash. Australis polish in Speck-tacular The photo does the nail polish no justice at all, I mean y

June 2018 Empties

Image
Well, that's one month of Winter done and dusted, I'm sure I can get through another 2. Yet again I decluttered more products than I finished, but hey, there's a lot to go in the bin, regardless. I'll break down what I finished and show you what I decluttered. The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid + B5 - I really enjoyed this serum, it did a wonderful job at hydrating my skin.  Repurchase? There are many serums from The Ordinary that I still want to try. I would consider buying again, but it wouldn't be for a long time and who knows what might grab my fancy in that time. As for the next 3 products in the above photo, I will come right out and say that I will not be buying these products again. I actually used them on my feet to finish them because I didn't want to throw them out. The It's Skin serums just didn't seem to benefit my skin. The Ganique Paris C Bright Eye Revive I was excited about using, but the oil just didn't want to absorb

Minenssey Brightening Mask

Image
When I was invited by beauty website Beautyheaven, to trial the Minenssey Brightening Mask, I was quick to respond with an emphatic yes, well I emphatically clicked the accept button, anyway. Anything with the word "brightening" appeals to me. Minenssey Sydney is an Australian brand that uses ingredients taken from our vast wilderness. I love this concept! Taken from Minenssey - "The Minenssey Brightening Mask is a stimulating cocktail of Moonstone extract, Snow Flower along with black and white clay mix to nourish, balance and brighten the skin. It's suitable for all skin types as a luxurious remedy for dull, uneven or tired complexions and as a restorative for radiant light reflective skin." When I received the mask I was in awe of the gorgeous luxe packaging. The black soft touch box with the silver lettering looks so classy. I almost expected a bright light and music playing upon opening the box, which comes complete with a magnetic closure. Just as
