SOTD- Jean Patou "Sira Des Indes"
I am so happy that after being unwell for sometime, I have finally got my sense of smell back. It was terrible not being able to smell any beautiful fragrances.
Sira des Indes is another sample given to me by my daughter who wasn't keen on the perfume that she had ordered from My Perfume Samples.
Described as "Oriental woody fragrance for women. Top notes are banana, pear, bergamot, cardamon and pink pepper. Middle notes are champaca, orange blossom, plum and milk, Base notes are sandalwood, amber, musk and vanilla."
When I first applied this perfume, it had a pungent note about it. I couldn't pinpoint what it was, but I wasn't a fan. Thankfully, this quickly disappeared as it softened to a very creamy, powdery fragrance. The banana and pear are noticeable but are not too prominent, blending softly. I find that the perfume is quite close to the skin.
I was quite surprised that being an oriental that it is so subtle. Sira des Indes is nice, not a full size must-have, as yet, but I will continue to use the sample, I seem to like it the more I wear it.
This sounds so interesting Indie - my Mum used to wear Joy and this bottle is the same shape. Love the colour of the perfume and I'm an oriental gal so will add this to my wishlist. Golly I placed another order with MyPerfumeSamples, and now I'm rolling in vials and have SO many to review I'm not sure where to start lol...
ReplyDeleteFor an oriental, it is very soft, I like a stronger note, personally, but it is quite nice. I can't wait until you write more brilliant perfume reviews xx
DeleteThis is the first time I've seen banana amongst the notes of a fragrance :D how interesting! I do love banana scents so am keen as mustard to get a whiff of Sira Des Indes. How lovely of your daughter to give it to you xxc
ReplyDeleteI know, banana is such a yummy scent, but rarely used in perfumes. My daughter gave me quite a few samples, I was definitely not going to knock them back, lol xx
