MUA Cosmetics "Luxe Metallic" Palettes

These MUA Cosmetics palettes had me at metallic. The palette contains 3 eye shadow shades and one lid primer. There are 3 versions on offer, I bought 2 of them and thought I would include them both in the one post.

"Elemental"

I began with the champagne colour in the inner lid, then the gold on the rest of my lid and blue in my crease for something different.

I found the blue so pretty applied on my entire lid.

For this look, I applied the champagne to my lid, gold in the crease, then lined with blue, using gold on my lower lashline as well.

 "Mysterial"

Here I used the pale gold on my inner lid and lower waterline, pink on my entire lid and the dark chocolate brown in the crease.

I used pink on the inner lid, then the rest was the brown, which applied very patchy and was difficult to work with.

Light gold on my entire lid, with the pink used as a liner.

As much as I loved the metallic colours, I did find that they did require more time to work with. However, I did discover that a light application of powder shadow over the included primer really made a difference. They became easier to apply, and didn't crease so much. I also found the best way to apply was with the included sponge applicators, I'm so glad that I had not yet thrown them out, like I normally do!

Although I don't regret buying these fun metallic palettes, I can't see myself reaching for them very often. I already own some great powder eye shadows with decent metallic colour pay-off. That will last without sliding and creasing.

For the low price, Luxe Metallic palettes from MUA are worth playing with if you love metal eye shadows. If you're not prepared to put a little extra time in application, I'd suggest giving these a miss.

Do you like cream eye shadows?
