CJ Scents

Image
I just can't seem to get enough of indie perfumes. I honestly don't even remember how I stumbled across CJ Scents , but an order was made and I received a lovely parcel of scented goodness. The website is easy to navigate. I also like that there is a scent list, which made it so much easier when ordering samples :) There are different sized perfume and EDP bottles to choose from. Although, the EDP perfumes are not available to international customers, due to alcohol content. Now to the perfumes I tried. AMBER COFFEE: *Deep amber and black, smokey coffee. This one is rich and syrupy. Smells like caramel and coffee. Simple, yet delectable. It lasts for some time, I seems to get subtle wafts throughout wear. This one is yummo! PUMPKIN PATCH: *2 different patchoulis, one deep and one powdery, vanilla, sandalwood, spices and of course pumpkin. I find this scent to be quite a masculine one. Rich, sweet, earthy and slightly spicy. Sexy and appealing on my guy. BOOZYWOO...

To Repurchase or not to Repurchase:Sukin Rosehip Oil

Image
Rosehip Oil is a product that has become a staple in my skincare collection. Why, you may ask. Well, there are just so many benefits from using this oil. Rosehip Oil contains a whopping 80% essential fatty acids, Vitamin E, beta carotene and lycopene, a powerful antioxidant. All these powerful ingredients combined help with skin renewal, making it an incredible anti ageing product. What's more, those that have problem skin need not pass this wonder oil up, it works for any skin type, even helping skin heal from breakouts. I have combination skin, and I receive the hydrating benefits as well as reduced redness from pimples. Acne scarring is also diminished over time thanks to this oil. Many brands sell rosehip oil. It is best to look for 100% rosehip, the product is perfect on its own, and organic is even better. I recently finished a bottle of Sukin Rosehip Oil . It ticks all the boxes, plus it's an ethical Australian brand, so I am more than happy to support this company. ...

Bluesky Shellac

Image
I can't believe that it has taken so long to review this gel nail system!! I got it for myself at Christmas time eek! Ever since having a Shellac mani done, I had been looking for a system so I could DIY. Well, if anyone has looked, even on ebay, these are quite exxy. As I was searching, I discovered many alternatives, many still out of my reach (or what I wanted to pay!) Many times the Bluesky Shellac brand popped up on ebay. Clearly a knock-off of Shellac, but at such a tempting, affordable price, I finally decided to give it a go. I have played with this system many times, and with some trial and error have found a method that suits me. The instructions are simple to follow. Basically begin with clean nails, apply base coat then 2 layers of colour then top coat. All having 2 minutes of curing time under the lamp for each layer applied. Finally, rubbing over the sticky nails with acetone polish remover or rubbing alcohol means smooth glossy nails. I discovered that applying th...

Lytic Cocktail

I am very lucky to know Su, writer of the fantastic blog, My Perfume Diaries . After telling her about my latest obsession with perfume oils, she kindly sent me some that she had created. I am hoping she will eventually begin selling perfumes, because if she doesn't, it will be a great talent wasted, in my opinion. Not only did she send me some samples, but Su also created a perfume custom made for me as a birthday gift. Now this post is a LONG time coming, as my birthday is 29th of December..I am so so behind on my product reviews (gasp!) I love that Su named the perfume after me. She got the scent just right.  MICHELLE: Warm, comforting creamy and rich. This perfume is so me. It's gourmand and delectable. This scent envelopes the wearer, but not in an overpowering cloying way. It gives gentle wafts throughout wear. Just beautiful! The other perfumes I tried: Naked: * Soft, woodsy, ambery. It blends into the skin so well that you don't feel like you are...

Soap Seduction

Image
I love soaps and perfumes, next to makeup, they are my favourite products to buy. The online store on Etsy, Soap Seduction , have a great variety. The products on offer are soaps, perfumes, lip balms, scrubs and body oils. Quite a nice range to choose from. I placed a small order just to try a couple of things. They came well packed and processing was fast. I ordered 2 perfumes and body oil, the soap was a lovely gift. This soap lathered nicely, but not too much, enabling it to last quite some time. It was also quite moisturising, like most natural soaps are. A great bonus, as I do love natural soaps. I had never tried a body oil before, so purchased Sugar Cookie bath and body oil. Of course smelling like cookies is always a good thing, and this smelled divine! It soaked into my skin in no time. I had no worries about any staining on my clothes. My skin felt so soft and smooth all day. If there was one thing I could complain about, it would only be that delivery could be a ...

Perfumies

Image
Some time ago, thanks to the sadly no longer Heartsy, I came across an etsy store called Baroque, now known as Perfumies . On offer are solid perfumes, packaged in wind up tubes, like the ones lip balms typically come in, only more narrow. There are many fragrances to choose from, and many are perfume dupes. INFATUATION: *(not listed) Beautiful soft, sweet floral. It is warm, yet bright. Sophisticated and very likeable. SEA MIST: *(not listed)  Ozonic musk, with the appeal of sweet florals. This is quite close to the skin, perfect for warmer months.  RENDEZ-VOUS: *This fragrance begins with top notes of fresh floral ylang ylang, rose petals and French jasmine. Lovely base notes of vetiver and sandalwood provide a woodsy crisp finish.  This fragrance begins quite crisp florals and has a green herbal note to it. After wear, it turns soapy. Not nasty soap, but still soapy, unfortunately. AFTERGLOW: * This scent is of a blend of sandalwood, amber, musk and va...
