Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint in Stripped Down
Another product that I picked up during Beauty Heaven's last Beautorium event was the Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint in Stripped Down. I had been tempted to buy one in the past when they were first being sold in Australian stores, but kept resisting because it just wasn't something that I needed. Anyway enough of that, I now have my very own!
Taken from MNY Australia-"Go beyond gloss with a jolt of intense colour . Maybelline's vibrant lip paint delivers 8 x more pigment in every drop."
The Colour Jolt is packaged in a squeeze tube with 6.4 ml of product. It has a screw-top lid that when removed reveals a sponge tipped applicator with small hole. It has a faint sweet watermelon scent which disappears quite quickly. The consistency of this lip product is quite thick.
To apply, I just squeezed the tube until I could see product seeping through the sponge. Then swept the sponge across my lips. Surprisingly I didn't find the process messy. The thick lipstick is very smooth and just glides across the lips.
The Lip Jolts remind me of the original OCC Lip Tars, in packaging and pigmentation only. I did not like the Lip Tars because I found them messy to apply and they felt heavy on my lips. That's where this lip product differs, it's not heavy and certainly not sticky and feels comfortable and moisturising.
The wear time is pretty good for a glossy lip product. It lasted hours before any touch-ups were needed, even then there was a stain of colour still on my lips that wasn't patchy. The only con would probably be the sponge applicator, which I can imagine getting a bit questionable after a few uses. The pros far outweigh this one con, though.
The shade I have is "Stripped Down", a lovely pinky nude shade.

Nude lipsticks are so easy to wear! xx
DeleteOh well, how many beauty products do we actually need? I´d say none, or at least very few. But still I keep telling myself: I don´t really need that when it comes to new products as well.
