Lacura Naturals Macadamia and Shea Butter Lip Balm

Image
Aldi's own skincare brand Lacura, has surprised me with their decent products, considering the very budget friendly prices.  As I was wondering around doing my weekly grocery shopping, I noticed the triple pack of Naturals Macadamia and Shea Butter Lip Balm. Containing vitamin E, macadamia oil and shea butter, the lip balm moisturises the lips, while protecting them from the sun with spf.  The lip balm comes in a tube, reminds me of the old lip balm tubes., where you twist up, rather than wind. It is a thick formula and when I began using this lip balm, it did feel heavy on my lips, similar to the feel of lipstick. I did get used to the feel over time.  It is truly hydrating, drenching the lips with the moisturising properties, yet without being sticky. There is only a low spf factor of 6, but some protection is better than none, I guess. I had never before thought of buying a lip balm with a sunscreen, but lips certainly need protection from the sun, also...

Window Shopping

Image
This is my first window shopping post this year. I must say that a lot has changed since my last. Now that we are in 2015, I'm going to begin with a clean slate, but you can check out my last one here . What I now own from that list from last September is Australis Velourlips Natio BB Cream Sleek Lagoon palette Silk Naturals HD cream foundation Sugarpill eye shadow MUA Undress Your Skin Iridescent Gold Highlighter Makeup Geek Foiled eye shadows There are still a couple of things that I was lusting after and still am, but have many more beauty things that I really, really want to buy. Maybelline Fit Me concealer- I've heard such raves that I want to try it for myself, of course I'm in no need for a concealer right now, so I am going to continue to refrain until I do. I still really want to add these gorgeous perfumes to my collection. I have too many to finish before I even consider it just yet. I've seen way too many rave reviews ad beautif...

Makeup Revolution Lipsticks

Image
Makeup Revolution is aptly named. They have really shaken up the beauty community with budget products and some pretty obvious dupes, more on that another day. This UK online store had me at "budget prices". When I made a decent sized order with Makeup Revolution, I included some lipsticks. Now, I've been on a red lipstick craze of late, so if you're not keen on this colour, I apologize because this post will be very disappointing for you... Slick black tubes, with a helpful addition of the lipstick in clear plastic on the bottom. (can't seem to get into it, though) Atomic Ruby .   The "Atomic" range is brighter and more intense in colour.  Twist  A little pink intermission with Dazzle .  Dare   Reckless Rebel With A Cause . I can't compare, but this shade is said to be a dupe of MAC Rebel. These lipsticks are creamy and feel nice on the lips. With the exc...

One Direction "Our Moment"

Image
Thank you so much for reading a post that has One Direction in the title. I'm not a fan, but I'd heard that the perfume was lovely, so I wanted to at least try a sample. Description- " Top notes are pink  grapefruit, forest fruits and red currant, middle notes are freesia, jasmine and frangipani, base notes are woodsy notes, patchouli and musk." This perfume is perfect...for a teen girl. I didn't hate the sweet, fruity, slightly floral, did I say sweet blend. It's nice and light, with a zesty quality. But, it's so girly. It reminds me of Britney Spears "Fantasy". "Our Moment" would make a great gift for a young fan, she'd be bound to love it. Me, not excited. Not too disappointed that I won't use the sample, but adding a full size to my perfume collection, I will not :)

Marker Manicure

Image
You're probably wondering what a Marker Mani is. It's simply a manicure using marker pens. I guess it's kind of cheating, but hey, I'm all for simplicity and short cuts. I got this great idea from Beauty Heaven .  Because the pens are pastel, I opted for Sally Hansen "White On", to give the best base colour. I scribbled on each coloured marker pen, then used a cotton pad with a little remover to dab on the nails and soften the effect. I also finished the look with my fave top coat Essie "Pure Pearlfection". It reminds me a little of tie dye, lol. I hope you are having a wonderful day :)

Skinn By Dimitri Vacuum Deep Pore Cleansing Mask

Image
A clay mask is a must have in my skincare routine. I have combination skin and like to use a treatment that will help clear out my pores.  A mask with the name Vacuum Deep Pore Cleansing Mask certainly appealed to me. Yes, another TVSN deal too good to pass up. Taken from the Skinn website " The gentle yet highly effective deep pore cleansing mask utilizes the latest in micro-sponge technology to pull trapped dirt, pollution and excess oils from pores without dehydrating the skin. Absolutely essential for beautiful, healthy, radiant skin ."  The practical plastic jar contains 58ml of product. The consistency is fairly typical of a clay mask.  (I had taken a photo, but cannot seem to find it! Grrr) This mask is so easy to apply, it isn't too thick so that it smooths with a simple swiping motion. No rubbing, like you are working with putty.  Treatment time is from 10 to 15 minutes. I always leave it on for probably 30 minutes. What I enjoy about...

April Empties

Image
I should really rename this post to April clear out! I did finish a few products, but boy am I discarding a decent amount. I'll begin with the empties first. I go through a lot of nail polish remover, I can't even remember where I got this one from, it did the job.  Repurchase? If I come across it, I would, but won't look for it. I don't normally get excited about nail polish remover. Ciencia8 Preparation8 - This product replaces a toner. It's a chemical exfoliator that is gentle enough for everyday use. Repurchase? I really like it. I feel that the products I use afterward absorb well. I have a couple of back ups. Mirenesse Power Lift Super Star Eye Sheet Mask -  Loved these under eye patches. So easy to use, stuck on so that they didn't budge. The serum was lovely, and really hydrated my eye area. Repurchase? I recently bought 3 packs at a very reduced price from Ozsale. On the Mirenesse website, I think they are expensive for a on...
