April Empties
I should really rename this post to April clear out! I did finish a few products, but boy am I discarding a decent amount.
Wotnot Facial Wipes- They do the job of removing my makeup after an oil cleanse. I know they are a fave among the beauty world, but face wipes I don't get excited about.
Repurchase? Maybe.
"Wish" by Chopard- Although the diamond shape of the bottle, with the cut of glass being rather pretty, it is not so great for storage. The fragrance was rather nice, actually my hubby often commented when I wore this perfume. A popular perfume, yet so affordable now.
Repurchase? I have so many perfumes at the moment, that I'm not going to consider buying any for a while. Quite honestly, I'm generally over a fragrance by the time I finish it. Mind you, by the time I'm in the position to buy another perfume, who knows?
"Lemon Cheesecake" Sugar Queen Body Scrub- I was given a trial size of this scrub to review. The trial size contained plenty of product for me to form an opinion. The little jar was so cute, would make for a lovely stocking filler.
Repurchase? Ok, so I might not buy a lot of body products, but this scrub was so good and smelled divine! I just might have to replace with a full size!
BPAL "Forbidden Fruit"- This was an interesting perfume oil from well known indie brand Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. Smelled similar to the Juicy Fruit gum.
Repurchase? No, this oil gave me a nauseating headache, unfortunately.
It felt so good to go through some of my makeup collection to do a little culling. I won't list every product, because it would take way too long. But, I am throwing these unfinished makeup products out for either of these reasons: they are no longer useable (dried out, smell bad, etc) or I just don't use them because they don't work for me. I am slowly trying to turn around my makeup hoarding tendencies. It's hard when I think of the money spent on these products, but if I haven't used them in years, I'm not likely to again!
What about you, are you a hoarder? Or are you quick to rid something that you no longer use?
I'll begin with the empties first.
I go through a lot of nail polish remover, I can't even remember where I got this one from, it did the job.
Repurchase? If I come across it, I would, but won't look for it. I don't normally get excited about nail polish remover.
Ciencia8 Preparation8- This product replaces a toner. It's a chemical exfoliator that is gentle enough for everyday use.
Repurchase? I really like it. I feel that the products I use afterward absorb well. I have a couple of back ups.
Mirenesse Power Lift Super Star Eye Sheet Mask- Loved these under eye patches. So easy to use, stuck on so that they didn't budge. The serum was lovely, and really hydrated my eye area.
Repurchase? I recently bought 3 packs at a very reduced price from Ozsale. On the Mirenesse website, I think they are expensive for a one use product. If I come across them like I did really cheap, I'll buy, but I can live without them.

The Ciencia8 preparation sounds great, I love a good chemical exfoliator.
ReplyDeleteIt is really good, hun. I do prefer a chemical exfoliator, too xx
DeleteI threw out quite a few old unfinished makeup, and it felt liberating!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great feeling, Lily. I'm sure I could cull more, but one step at a time, lol
DeleteI'm a hoarder too. If I throw something away, I know it will come back into fashion. I had a Maybelline quartet of shadows that I hadn't used in ages. The darkest colour in the quartet is a good marsala match. I had foundation that was too dark, then contouring came along. Every time something like this happens, it reinforces my habit of holding onto things.
ReplyDeleteAs for Ozsale, I've scored some bargains there, but it's rare for me to go there without purchasing so I try to avoid it. I know it's liberating to get rid of clutter. Good for you, but I won't be following suit.
I so get your point, but hey, it's an excuse to buy more makeup...which probably defeats the purpose of a cull, lol.
DeleteI go through phases, at times I tend to hoard things and not throw them out as I think about how much I invested in them but other times I'm good at rationalising that I don't use a product for a good reason and thus there's no point taking up storage space for something I'll never use again! Well done with your decluttering and culling!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to the Monday Makeup Madness link up party.
Thanks Ingrid. I few things I that could have gone, I wasn't quite ready to part with yet. Maybe next time, lol
DeleteI went through and threw out a lot of my older makeup products too.. it was such a release! xx
ReplyDeleteSweetaholic Beauty
