Nail Art Wednesday

If you follow Kat on Instagram, you would have been delighted by her wonderful photos of various flowers. It was viewing these photos that inspired this nail look.

Models Inc "Diamond Shine", Australis "#bethatgirl", Ulta3 "Honolulu and Australis "Glitter Strikes Back"

I began with a champagne base colour. On the fingers that I wanted to replicate a flower design, I applied another coat of the base polish. While still wet, I dotted on the purple polish, then yellow in the centre. Using a toothpick, I dragged the yellow polish out from the middle, in the hope of creating a design reminiscent of a pansy. On the remaining nails I applied the glitter topper, "Empire Strikes Back".

I hope I did justice to these beautiful flowers :)

      Thanks Beth. I find yellow is useful for a lot of nail art ideas. Not a fan of the colour on its own on my nails, tho, lol

    Those pansies look great Indie! Love the champagne colour on the other nails too and I'm another one who can't wear yellow on its own, it just doesn't suit me.

BYS Berries Palette

I have bought from the brand BYS in the past, but I can't say I've actually sought out anything from them. Well, that was until I saw swatches popping up on my Instagram feed of the Berries palette.  It's a 12 pan palette and has a similar vibe going on to the much loved and raved about ABH Modern Renaissance palette. Of course, I do not own the pricier ABH palette, but I just had to have the Berries palette. Taken from BYS - "BYS Berries Eye Shadow Palette features an array of 12 expertly chosen, highly pigmented matte and metallic eye shadows. The 12 piece palette comes housed in a modern, embossed tin. featuring a mirror and 2 dual end applicators." The tin packaging of this palette is really cute, it reminds me of the Naked 2 and 3 palettes. It is a little bulky, but I like it. BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Deluxe Palette and Giveaway

When BH Cosmetics released the original Carli Bybel palette I was tossing up whether I was going to purchase it or not. Sure, it was pretty with lovely neutral shades, but I was trying to cut down my eye shadow palette buying to only palettes that I really, really had to have and I wasn't convinced that was the case. When the Carli Bybel Deluxe version was released containing 15 shadows and 6 highlighters as opposed to the original which had 10 eye shadows and 3 highlighters, I had to have it. I went as far as pre-ordering the palette before it was even released. The sneak peek swatches had won me over!
