W7 Photo Shoot Foundation
I actually felt like doing a little happy dance to celebrate the fact that I needed to buy foundation. Yes needed, not just wanted, but I'm-on-my-last-foundation and need to replace it. I'd noticed the budget-friendly W7 brand at Chemist Warehouse, and after a Google search for reviews, I thought I'd give it a try. Besides, for a few dollars, I really had nothing to lose.
"The new Photo Shoot Foundation leaves you with a flawless finish! Not only budge proof, but lasts up to 16 hours."
I store the foundation upside down, so that there is product near the top, and I still have to tap the bottle to try and dislodge the desired amount. Annoying.
Now onto the foundation itself. For me, it is the perfect consistency for a liquid foundation. I dislike runny foundations, and as you can see from the photo, this one is not.
I apply with a flat top brush and find that the foundation goes on effortlessly. Easy to blend and applies evenly.
It has a light to medium coverage. Not all my flaws are hidden, but my skin definitely looks more even. The finish is quite dewy. I like a dewy finish, but this foundation is bordering on the too-shiny side of dewy. However, I always apply powder with foundation anyway, and it certainly takes away the oily look, without being too flat.
My skin looks natural, and does not feel cakey and dry, nor does the foundation slip and slide on my skin or become patchy throughout wear.
I have not tested any more than my normal 6 to 7 hours wear, but I can say that in this time frame, the foundation does not budge.

The foundation is packaged in a sleek looking glass bottle.
Creamy consistency, not runny or too thick.
I really like the look of the bottle, but I'll begin with what I dislike. The delivery system, or should I say, lack thereof. It is just the open mouth under the lid. I would be happy to pay extra for a pump top dispenser, even a squeeze tube would be preferable.

Just the foundation, no concealer, finishing powder, etc.
Concealer and finishing powder were a definite must, but they're part of my normal makeup routine anyway.
What's your current favourite foundation?
I'm currently on the Maybelline Dream Wonder which I do like but am on the lookout for a dewier look for evening events when I want to get a bit of illumiser happening. Think I need to check out Chemist Warehouse!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'm yet to try the Dream Wonder. I've heard great things. If you're after a dewy finish, definitely give the W7 a try. Besides it's so cheap, it's not such a big deal if you don't like it :)
DeleteLooks like a decent finish, but that dispensing method is such a no no!
ReplyDeleteI agree! If the bottle had a pump, I'd consider repurchasing.
