Simply Nails 2017 #2

Image
I was gifted some pretty nail art designs and cute embellishments from a lovely lady from Portugal who I am friends with on Instagram. Her account is @sarahpequena. She sells them, but sent some to me with no expectations of blog post or review purposes. The hardest part was choosing what to use first! I decided to use some of the blue diamantes, which went perfectly with the one in the floral design positioned in the 3rd row, last 2.  To go with the blue theme, I wanted a purple toned ombre. I chose Models Inc Opalescent as a base colour, using 2 coats.  To create the ombre, I painted a line of Opalescent onto a sponge repeating with a line of Australis #bethatgirl right next to it, overlapping slightly. I then positioned the sponge so that the purple polish would be placed on the tips of my nails. With a dabbing motion, moving up and down slightly, I was able to create the ombre. I hope I'm making sense! If you google ombre or gradient nails, there's ...

Makeup Revolution Chocolate Love Palette

Image
Yes, I have yet another Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup eye shadow palette to show you today. It is Chocolate Love. The shades in the palette are quite similar to the Too Faced Bob Bons palette. I love the melting chocolate packaging and I love pink, so this packaging gets a huge thumbs up from me. The palette comes with the typical plastic protector. It is handy for the shade names, but I always throw them out. Complete with 14 regular sizes and 2 double sized eye shadows. The larger ones I would use for transition shade and to set my lids, so I could see myself hitting pan on them quite quickly. Now onto some swatches. The mattes are lovely to use and the shimmers are nicely pigmented. It's a palette that has lovely neutral shades and then some pops of colour. I love some colour on my lid, so of course I love that! I'll show you some eye looks. Look 1 Look 2 Look 3 I'm linking this...

Project Pan 2017 Update #2

Image
Today I will be showing you my update on the products I am trying to finish, my last was about 2 months ago. You can see that here . This is a rolling 5 pan so I just replace products as I finish them. I'll start by showing you the ColourPop eye shadow in Cornelius. I used as much as I could, but am calling it a day on this one because it just became too dry to use. I am pretty happy that I got so much use out of it, though. The 2nd product that I finished was the MBA Cosmetics lipstick sample in Drama Queen. I know it's not a huge achievement, but I just want to try and get through these samples before they go bad. The last 2 months I seemed to make better progress on this concealer. I made an effort to use the LA Girl eye liner more, making sure to use on the lower water line as well as the upper, still slow going, but there is progress. I use this neutral coloured lip pencil with almost every lip colour. The except...

Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup Golden Bar Palette

Image
I am sure you know by now that I am addicted to the I Heart Makeup Chocolate palettes from Makeup Revolution, so when the Golden Bar Palette was released, I knew it would eventually be mine. The gold overlay on the chocolate makes this my favourite packaging out of the I Heart Makeup eye shadow palettes on offer. Now for some swatches. I love the rich neutral shades. So easy to wear. They are pigmented and apply beautifully. What I don't like is that there is not one matte shade, which I find unusual for these palettes. By no means do I think that it's a bad palette. Goodness knows I have plenty of palettes to use mattes from to finish an eye look. It's just inconvenient. Of course, I have some eye looks to show you. Look 1 Look 2 Look 3 Look 4 Look 5 The Golden Bar may not be a one-stop palette, but it sure does have some gorgeous shades! I'...
