Femme Fatale- Sampling Some More Eye Shadows

I've tried to cut down on buying mineral eye shadows, but when I last ordered some nail polishes from Femme Fatale, I just had to include some sample eye shadows. I feel good purchasing goodies from this online indie company because I am buying local. There's not too many budget friendly mineral make up brands from Oz, and this is one of my faves. Instead of trying to decide what single samples that I wanted, I went ahead and ordered a set of 5 shadows. The Lord of the Centuries collection really appealed to me. I love that you can buy collections in sample sizes as well as full size.

Shifting Sands- Pale golden shimmer.

Sandscale- Golden sand.

Cosmic Power- Pink gold.

Time Lost- Bronzed neutral.

Temporal Shift- Blackened gold.

 These are the additional samples that were generously included in my order.

Archangel- Iridescent pink.

The Masquerade- Mauve pink.

Inscribe- Brown shimmer.


Lid- The Masquerade
Crease- Time Lost
Underneath brow- Sandscale
Outer V- Inscribe

 I really wanted to create an EOTD using Temporal Shift. I decided to do this by applying the shadow over the the lid colour, The Masquerade, and this is the result:

    Great post, lovely! I must say that I really love sample sizes too, it gives you a chance to play with some new goodies and expand your stash without spending too much or wasting too much storage space! I'm sure you and I hardly finish an entire shadow pan. :)

    I love the look of these, especially Temporal Shift and Cosmic Power! Can't wait to see your polish post. :)

      Thanks hun! You're right, I rarely use a pan, and I love that most samples offer many uses, plus I don't feel so guilty buying them, lol :)

BYS Berries Palette

I have bought from the brand BYS in the past, but I can't say I've actually sought out anything from them. Well, that was until I saw swatches popping up on my Instagram feed of the Berries palette.  It's a 12 pan palette and has a similar vibe going on to the much loved and raved about ABH Modern Renaissance palette. Of course, I do not own the pricier ABH palette, but I just had to have the Berries palette. Taken from BYS - "BYS Berries Eye Shadow Palette features an array of 12 expertly chosen, highly pigmented matte and metallic eye shadows. The 12 piece palette comes housed in a modern, embossed tin. featuring a mirror and 2 dual end applicators." The tin packaging of this palette is really cute, it reminds me of the Naked 2 and 3 palettes. It is a little bulky, but I like it. BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Deluxe Palette and Giveaway

When BH Cosmetics released the original Carli Bybel palette I was tossing up whether I was going to purchase it or not. Sure, it was pretty with lovely neutral shades, but I was trying to cut down my eye shadow palette buying to only palettes that I really, really had to have and I wasn't convinced that was the case. When the Carli Bybel Deluxe version was released containing 15 shadows and 6 highlighters as opposed to the original which had 10 eye shadows and 3 highlighters, I had to have it. I went as far as pre-ordering the palette before it was even released. The sneak peek swatches had won me over!
