Houston, We Have A Problem!- Olay Oil Minimizing Toner.
I hate throwing out a product that I haven't given much of a chance, especially when it's over something that seems as trivial as the scent.
Olay Oil Minimizing Toner has been formulated to remove dirt excess oil and makeup. Although targeted for oily skin, having witch hazel, a well known astringent, this product also has Aloe Vera to soothe skin. Sounds pretty good, huh?
I received this toner as part of a prize pack that I had won, probably not something that I would have purchased myself. However, wanting to at least try it, I simply applied this product like most toners, after cleansing, with a cotton pad.
What went wrong for me was the scent. Fragrance was added, but it just wasn't enough to mask the strong alcohol smell. Maybe I have become accustomed to natural scented products, but I actually felt ill
Having this affect was not the only reason for saying goodbye to this toner. After the strong smell of alcohol, I checked the ingredients. Having alcohol listed as the 2nd ingredient just doesn't sit well with me. Maybe if I was younger, when my skin was more oily, but now I'm finding that alcohol based products just strip my skin. Not a good thing for more mature skin.
I hate throwing out products that aren't finished, let alone full, but if it doesn't go now, it'll just sit in my bathroom cupboard collecting dust. I might as well make room for something else ;)

I'm exactly like you hun and hate that alcohol smell. It dries out already dry skin and feels like it does more bad then good. Don't feel bad, I would of thrown it out too :(
ReplyDeleteSo true, hun! I'm just glad that I hadn't paid for it, lol
DeleteI've got a product I barely used and hated... I hate throwing out unfinished products too! Oooohh they need to work to reduce that alcohol scent!

It's bad enough throwing out a visibly used product, but when it's pretty much full, it feels terrible. Product scents don't normally bother me too much, but I just hated this one
