Fan Brush Mani

What do you do with unused makeup brushes? Well, use them for nail art, of course! One of these said brushes is a fan brush. This was a brush in a set that was not of the best quality, so instead of throwing it away, I thought I would create a mani with it instead.
Orly "Liquid Vinyl", Femme Fatale "Shadowsong" and "Amber Jewel".

With a black base colour, I used the fan brush to paint on the Femme Fatale nail polishes, with horizontal strokes. Waiting for one nail colour to dry before painting on the next.




I'm really happy with the result, the added bonus of having a use for a brush that was nearly thrown out!

      Thank you darling Mandy. Now that I am happy with the effect the fan brush gave to my nail look, I want to try some colour on a lighter base colour xx

BYS Berries Palette

I have bought from the brand BYS in the past, but I can't say I've actually sought out anything from them. Well, that was until I saw swatches popping up on my Instagram feed of the Berries palette.  It's a 12 pan palette and has a similar vibe going on to the much loved and raved about ABH Modern Renaissance palette. Of course, I do not own the pricier ABH palette, but I just had to have the Berries palette. Taken from BYS - "BYS Berries Eye Shadow Palette features an array of 12 expertly chosen, highly pigmented matte and metallic eye shadows. The 12 piece palette comes housed in a modern, embossed tin. featuring a mirror and 2 dual end applicators." The tin packaging of this palette is really cute, it reminds me of the Naked 2 and 3 palettes. It is a little bulky, but I like it. BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Deluxe Palette and Giveaway

When BH Cosmetics released the original Carli Bybel palette I was tossing up whether I was going to purchase it or not. Sure, it was pretty with lovely neutral shades, but I was trying to cut down my eye shadow palette buying to only palettes that I really, really had to have and I wasn't convinced that was the case. When the Carli Bybel Deluxe version was released containing 15 shadows and 6 highlighters as opposed to the original which had 10 eye shadows and 3 highlighters, I had to have it. I went as far as pre-ordering the palette before it was even released. The sneak peek swatches had won me over!
