To Repurchase Or Not To Repurchase- Avon Anew E-Defence Deep Recovery Cream

I've had my fair share of hits and misses with Avon, generally the skincare I have tried has been under the misses category, I often find that it makes me break out.

To be honest Clinical E-Defence Deep Recovery Cream is not a product I would have bought for myself, I was gifted it during Beautorium, an event held on beauty website, Beauty Heaven.

This cream boasts a formula that targets wrinkles and dark spots. Pigmentation and lines I do have and would love to be rid of.

The cream is packaged in a lovely blue coloured jar, with chrome lid. Quite classy with 30g of product.

The white cream is of a rich consistency, so a little goes a long way. The product is not fragranced, yet does have a slight chemical scent, not over-powering, though.

Would I repurchase? Regrettably, I have to say no. Let me explain, the cream felt beautiful. My skin felt plump with hydration, a known way to reduce lines. Where the problem lies is with my reaction to this cream. No, there were no break-outs, which is great, however, after application, my eyes stung and watered terribly. Although I am careful to not apply too close to my eyes, I decided next time I applied that I would avoid the eye area completely. The sting wasn't so bad, but my eyes still watered. Boo! I did persevere until I finished the jar. Sadly, the reaction negates a purchase of Avon's new product from the Anew range.

  1. This hurt my eyes badly too, even when it was no where near my eyes, not a fan!

    1. I've never had this happen before. It was such a shame, because if not for the stinging, I would have enjoyed this cream.

  2. Bummer Indie. Brave of you to finish it off, I wonder what it is that causes the sting...

    1. Whatever it is, it needs to be re-formulated, as everyone I have heard of that has tried this cream had the same problem :(

  3. I had this on my hand after struggling to keep it on my face (strong stinging sensation) and even with it on my hand, when it got near my face I could tell because my eyes would start watering.

I think I might use it on my feet now, don't know how useful it'd be down there but boy oh boy I hated this.

It did moisturise well for the first couple of applications but what on earth is causing the stinging?! Not good at all :(

  4. How strange that it makes your eyes sting! I remember getting this in Beautorium but passed it onto my mum. She hasn't mentioned anything about it, but I am curious as to which ingredient causes the stinging...

    1. I know, it's really weird, I don't normally experience sensitivities to skincare. I'm glad to hear that it seems to not be effecting your mum, she's the 1st of heard that hasn't had this reaction :)
