The Chequered Lily
Being online and bored with time to kill is not a very good mix, especially for my bank balance, lol. On one of these such days, I decided to browse online website, Etsy. This is when I came across the store Chequered Lily. My browsing soon became a need to place an order, especially after I read Lily's honest blurb
All swatches are shown against dry, bare skin. I strive for accuracy in my photos, but some colors have a dramatic shift that the camera cannot adequately capture, for this reason, I show photos of my products in varying lighting conditions (but always outdoor, natural light) and shoot video for each color (http://www.youtube.com/user/TheChequeredLily). I also provide a "streak" photo for each color against lightly textured black paper to give an idea of how a color goes onto the skin and what its finish is, ie: metallic, pearl, matte, glitter, etc. The use of a primer or base will enhance the brightness, opacity, and wear of any shadow and is highly recommended, especially for shadows that are very sparkly or contain a high percentage of glitter. Colors on the website may appear lighter than they actually are, this is partly due to varying monitor settings, and also partly due to camera settings and editing. If you are unhappy with a color you have received, please convo me so we can work on a solution. ^_^"
A Dustland Fairytale- Nude pink.
Candyfloss- Salmon pink.
November- Deep mocha.
Jareth V2.0- Dark violet brown.
Terracotta Rose and Enraptured blushes. These blushes are so pigmented, but don't let that scare you because they blend out like a dream!
Of course I couldn't wait to apply some eye shadows!
For this look I used A Dustland Fairytale on my inner lid, Candy Floss on center and outer is Jareth V2.0
To complete this look, I applied Pharaoh's Curse on my inner lid, Monster Bride on center, November on the outer "V" and Stormbringer in the crease.
I was so impressed with these eye shadows. They had such a beautiful finish, very pigmented, yet easy to blend. I am so happy that I stumbled across this brand, definitely worth trying!
