SOTD- Gucci "Envy Me 2"

I have never tried any Gucci fragrances before. When I saw it available on My Perfume Samples, I hastily included one in my order.

Gucci "Envy Me 2" is described as, "floral with a leafy opening with a touch of wood. The heart is Ottoman rose and mauve heliotrope bouquet. The base is composed of woody notes of patchouli and sandalwood, softened by vanilla."

 Oh yes, I definitely detected the green, leafy scent. I am not a fan of woody/herbal type fragrances, but this scent is not overpowering, and is not so obvious on drydown. That's when the florals bloom into a powdery soft, fresh note. The dirtiness of patchouli and woodiness of sandalwood ground this perfume, but only in the subtlest of ways. 

 I find it to be a perfume that could easily be an everyday fragrance. But, not for me. It's not a perfume that I would reach for, to be honest. Maybe it's the rose? I'm not sure, not terrible by any means, but just doesn't excite me.

    The bottle sure does look pretty :)
    I wish I could give it a whiff to see what it's like. It sounds like something I'd definitely like to try out. What a shame it doesn't impress you Indie. I don't believe I've tried out any Gucci fragrances either.

      Yes, this perfume does have a nice looking bottle. I am not too upset about the perfume, I don't need another on my list, lol :)

    It's good to try new things. Sorry this one didn't pan out, it is such a lovely bottle.
    Years ago I used to wear Gucci Rush2. A very unusual scent for me but it made me feel very sexy and yet empowered. It was the Tom Ford era at Gucci, lol.

      I love to try different perfumes. Can be a bit expensive when I like them, lol. Rush 2 would probably be a movie I'd like, I love TF fragrances.

    Gosh I just LOVE this series Indie - of course my wallet doesn't because I've just placed an order with My Perfume Samples lol, and although I didn't include this one, I'm thrilled with what they have available and can't wait for them to arrive. You will always be Scentsation to me darling, and I thank you for encouraging me to explore another of my passions ♥

BYS Berries Palette

I have bought from the brand BYS in the past, but I can't say I've actually sought out anything from them. Well, that was until I saw swatches popping up on my Instagram feed of the Berries palette.  It's a 12 pan palette and has a similar vibe going on to the much loved and raved about ABH Modern Renaissance palette. Of course, I do not own the pricier ABH palette, but I just had to have the Berries palette. Taken from BYS - "BYS Berries Eye Shadow Palette features an array of 12 expertly chosen, highly pigmented matte and metallic eye shadows. The 12 piece palette comes housed in a modern, embossed tin. featuring a mirror and 2 dual end applicators." The tin packaging of this palette is really cute, it reminds me of the Naked 2 and 3 palettes. It is a little bulky, but I like it. BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Deluxe Palette and Giveaway

When BH Cosmetics released the original Carli Bybel palette I was tossing up whether I was going to purchase it or not. Sure, it was pretty with lovely neutral shades, but I was trying to cut down my eye shadow palette buying to only palettes that I really, really had to have and I wasn't convinced that was the case. When the Carli Bybel Deluxe version was released containing 15 shadows and 6 highlighters as opposed to the original which had 10 eye shadows and 3 highlighters, I had to have it. I went as far as pre-ordering the palette before it was even released. The sneak peek swatches had won me over!
