SOTD- Oscar de la Renta "So de la Renta"
Have you bought something based on a name? That's what happened with my purchase of "So de la Renta". I wanted an Oscar de la Renta product in my collection. It helped that it was a steal at Chemist Warehouse. Yeah, I often buy my perfumes there.
"So de la Renta" has top notes of clementine, kiwi, gardenia, freesia, mango, watermelon and cardamon. Middle notes are peony, tuberose, jasmine sambac, lotus and narcissus. Base notes are plum, musk and vanilla.
Upon first spray, this perfume is like a bouquet of flowers. I find the fruit notes to be more subtle than the florals, noticeable, but not enough to deem this fragrance fruity.
After dry down, the scent develops a warmth, when the vanilla and musk becomes more apparent, This is my favourite turning point of this perfume, unfortunately, that's when it begins to disappear from my skin. Thankfully, I can prolong the gorgeous tuberose, musky and rich sweetness by spraying on my clothes. This is where I get longevity.
Oh, and the bottle is pretty cute, too!

Oooh sounds nice, musk and vanilla are my favourite scents in perfume!
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely notes in a perfume :)
DeleteThis sounds like a lovely scent. I might have to track it down.
ReplyDeleteIt is quite nice, hun. Worth at least a test xx
DeleteI agree about Chemist Warehouse Indie - I've lost track of how many perfumes I've bought from there, terrific value when they have a sale which is pretty much all the time lol, and they seem to have more testers these days too. Have never EVER tried an Oscar de la Renta perfume, this one sounds so lovely, but how disappointing that it doesn't last - I would have expected better from a house of this calibre, boo. I've always wanted a Tom Ford fragrance on my shelf, so I bought samples of Violet Blonde, Velvet Orchid and Black Orchid from myperfumesamples.com. Fell instantly in love with Black Orchid (but not enough to fork out $200 for it - eek!), but the other two were just plain awful, and yet other gals rave about them. It's interesting how everyone's taste is so different hey?
ReplyDeleteI hope you keep reviewing fragrances FOREVER hon, just love reading your thoughts and impressions, plus you've already enabled me on a few occasions ha ha!
Thanks, gorgeous lady! I am one of those that adore Velvet Orchid, lol. I love how perfume is such a personal thing. My Perfume Samples is so great, isn't it? I love being able to have access to perfume samples. Though, my wishlist is getting longer and longer, lol xx
