Flower Nail Art

Now that I have tried a "dotticure" and found applying dots to be achievable for me, I wanted to take it one step further and try my hand at a little art using a dotting tool.

I wanted black for a base colour, so chose to use my trusty Orly "Liquid Vinyl". Then using a dotting tool, I created semi flower patterns using Femme Fatale "Amberjewel" and "Shadowsong", which truly come alive over a black nail polish.



I actually really like how this mani turned out. Easy, yet effective.

    So pretty!! I really need to get my hands on some nail tools, I made the mistake of using a sigma eyeliner brush once for some nail art and it still hasn't fully recovered lol.

      Oh no! Not a Sigma brush! Definitely get some nail art tools, so much fun. Just the cheapie sets from Ebay are good enough :)

    I bought a dotting tool, it's better than using a toothpick!
    Anything with a black background gets me, like you said: easy, yet effective.

BYS Berries Palette

I have bought from the brand BYS in the past, but I can't say I've actually sought out anything from them. Well, that was until I saw swatches popping up on my Instagram feed of the Berries palette.  It's a 12 pan palette and has a similar vibe going on to the much loved and raved about ABH Modern Renaissance palette. Of course, I do not own the pricier ABH palette, but I just had to have the Berries palette. Taken from BYS - "BYS Berries Eye Shadow Palette features an array of 12 expertly chosen, highly pigmented matte and metallic eye shadows. The 12 piece palette comes housed in a modern, embossed tin. featuring a mirror and 2 dual end applicators." The tin packaging of this palette is really cute, it reminds me of the Naked 2 and 3 palettes. It is a little bulky, but I like it. BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Deluxe Palette and Giveaway

When BH Cosmetics released the original Carli Bybel palette I was tossing up whether I was going to purchase it or not. Sure, it was pretty with lovely neutral shades, but I was trying to cut down my eye shadow palette buying to only palettes that I really, really had to have and I wasn't convinced that was the case. When the Carli Bybel Deluxe version was released containing 15 shadows and 6 highlighters as opposed to the original which had 10 eye shadows and 3 highlighters, I had to have it. I went as far as pre-ordering the palette before it was even released. The sneak peek swatches had won me over!
