Australia Day Nails

Happy Australia Day! I'm not actually going anywhere to celebrate the day, but I am proudly Australian. 

 Our family will have a laid back BBQ tonight, which is a typical Aussie thing to do, isn't it.
Of course, I couldn't let the day go by without showing you some nail looks I created over the past couple of weeks.

I attempted a waterfall mani, beginning with a gold base colour, then using a thin brush to paint on strokes, using yellow and green polish.

Another look, I used a sheer nude, then green and yellow swirled through a white tip.

Finally, I tried a reverse gradient with gold and green holo polishes. This is where you begin with a gradient. Then nail striping tape to create the desired lines. Apply another gradient over top, only in reverse, then while wet remove the tape.

    Happy (belated) Australia Day!

    Love all three, I didn't have much time to do anything this year...there's always next year! Love the holos, they're my favourite way to wear something different without the hassle that comes with glitter removal. :)

BYS Berries Palette

I have bought from the brand BYS in the past, but I can't say I've actually sought out anything from them. Well, that was until I saw swatches popping up on my Instagram feed of the Berries palette.  It's a 12 pan palette and has a similar vibe going on to the much loved and raved about ABH Modern Renaissance palette. Of course, I do not own the pricier ABH palette, but I just had to have the Berries palette. Taken from BYS - "BYS Berries Eye Shadow Palette features an array of 12 expertly chosen, highly pigmented matte and metallic eye shadows. The 12 piece palette comes housed in a modern, embossed tin. featuring a mirror and 2 dual end applicators." The tin packaging of this palette is really cute, it reminds me of the Naked 2 and 3 palettes. It is a little bulky, but I like it. BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Deluxe Palette and Giveaway

When BH Cosmetics released the original Carli Bybel palette I was tossing up whether I was going to purchase it or not. Sure, it was pretty with lovely neutral shades, but I was trying to cut down my eye shadow palette buying to only palettes that I really, really had to have and I wasn't convinced that was the case. When the Carli Bybel Deluxe version was released containing 15 shadows and 6 highlighters as opposed to the original which had 10 eye shadows and 3 highlighters, I had to have it. I went as far as pre-ordering the palette before it was even released. The sneak peek swatches had won me over!
