MUA Cosmetics "Iridescent Gold" Highlighting Powder
Over the years I've only used a face highlighter sporadically, hardly ever, to be honest. I would buy one every now and then, that would only end up collecting dust. With my preference of dewy foundations, I just found it too much adding a highlighter.
I guess with the craze of contouring (which I don't do much of!) I really liked that highlighted cheekbones look, not over-the-top, but a subtle sheen. This also works well with my current less dewy foundation finishes.
My most recent purchase from MUA Cosmetics included "Iridescent Gold" highlighting powder from the Undress Your Skin range.
Taken from the website "MUA's highlighting powder instantly radiates and lifts any complexion. This can be applied all over for an added radiance or applied to the cheek bones and under the brow bone to life an accentuate your natural features."

The compact is very pretty, it's almost a shame to use it and mess up that cute ripple effect.
I applied a thick swatch so you could really see the golden colour.
A much prefer to use a powder highlighter, I find them much more forgiving than a cream version. This highlighter is not chalky, yet not too soft that it crumbles, either.
I like to apply with a small fan brush, or small stippling brush. Either of these brushes have bristles that aren't densely packed, so don't pick up too much product.
My main use for highlighting powder is to swipe along my cheek bone. There's no chunky glitter, or fall out. I love that it provides the sheen that I'm after, without turning me into a disco ball. The highlighter picks up the light beautifully on certain angles, giving me that youthful glow that is not always so easy to create.
This is not my first MUA Undress Your Skin highlighter.
This is "Pink Shimmer".
Here's a comparison of the 2, I have been reaching for "Pink Shimmer" a lot, come summer, I think I'll be leaning towards "Iridescent Gold".
"Iridescent Gold"
...and "Pink Shimmer"
I love my budget buys, and MUA Cosmetics highlighters get a big thumbs up from me!

DeleteHow gorgeous both are!
ReplyDeleteI like a more subtle highlight, so these ones are perfect xx
DeleteI totally agree with you about preferring powder highlighter over liquid, it just messes up my make-up! I have the make-up revolution one which is virtually the same, in peach and it's lovely!I use it in the same way, just the top of the cheekbones to make me look 16 again :)
ReplyDeletethe gold looks great on your skin tone, I'm afraid I'm far far far too pale for it to suit me :/
